i dont make excuses for no one but me, just trying to clear the story up. and what? 3 years ago everyone was saying that Randy and Owens are the best wide outs in the game, now you hear people saying others and Moss and owens are BOTH lower on the list.
Look at Moss' numbers the last 3 years, and make an argument that he's still one of the best WRs in the game...
The TRUTH is, the numbers he put up last year wouldn't even be good for a team's SECOND receiver, let alone their FEATURE receiver:
Receptions: 42, 52nd in the NFL...
Receiving yards-- 553, 58th in the NFL...
Yards per catch-- 13.2, 82nd in the NFL...
TD catches-- 3, 60th in the NFL...
Catches over 20 yards-- 6, 70th in the NFL...
Catches over 40 yards-- 1, 68th in the NFL...
H*ll, PATRICK CRAYTON ranks ahead of Moss in most of these categories... yards per catch, TD receptions, catches over 20 yards, catches over 40 yards...
But you'd go out and sign a clearly declining WR, when we've already got two good but aging WRs on the roster?? Yeah, that makes a LOT of sense...
