that is how bad that group is. They are just. A bunch of rejects from other teams.

No he doesn't. Their production is pedestrian at best. That's why Kelce has the outrageous numbers that he has. Here are the numbers:

Cowboys trio of Lamb, Brown and Gallup
127 catches 1624 yards and 10 TDs.

KC trio of Smith-Shuster, Valdez-Scantling and Hardman
110 catches 1571 yards and 7 TDs

Both groups have a deep threat guy who missed time.
Hardman missed 4 games and Gallup missed 3.

But if Mahomes makes his guys look good clearly Dak is making his receivers look even better..

I'd say that's a pretty accurate assessment. Not sure where WR play ranks in terms of relevance to playoff success though. QB, line play, and turnovers seems to be the most important factors in playoff success.

Almost half of QB success comes down to receivers. Can they get open...quickly...hold onto the ball...get some YAC.

Looking across the 8 NFL playoff teams across the NFC / AFC how would you rank the Cowboys WR corp? I'd put them at 10 of 14 (ahead of the Giants, Titans, Jets and Ravens).

This is one of my biggest concerns heading into the playoffs considering opposing teams might sell out against the run and double Lamb.

Where do you have them? Any concerns?

Ceedee, Gallup, Noah Brown/ Washington/someone who aint here yet...way ahead of 10 of 14....that is some conspiratorial nonesense.....yes i had concerns when we let both Cooper and Cedrick Wilson go at same time.....since then we have been scrambling....but our guys have matured and are ready....top 7....OCTA-PLAT on that

AFC:
Bills: Push
Chiefs: Better (excluding Kelce)
Ravens: Better
Titans: Push
Bengals: Worse
Dolphins: Worse
Jets: Worse

NFC:
Eagles: Worse
Vikings: Worse
Giants: Better
49ers: Worse
Buccaneers: Worse
Seahawks: Worse

I put us better than at least 3 playoff teams and roughly on par with another two. There’s a few more teams that might limp in but aren’t much threat IMO. We are right up there with the TE’s and RB’s though and our top two WR’s are pretty darn good.

Tend to agree with this mostly because of such a drop off after Ceedee and Gallup. If Washington comes in and gives us some juice or Odell signed…I would probably bump us up over a few more teams.

Rodgers is a pretty good example. He didn’t just magically get terrible in the offseason.

I prefer to look at the skill position players as a whole. Our TE group has a couple guys ahead of Shultz but on the flipside Hendershot is better that many teams TE2. Then of course no one can hold a candle to our 2 RB.

Plus Moore doesn't get enough credit in moving 88 around making it hard to double him.

Our TE group is fine but they’re schemed open a ton. It’s not like Ferguson and Hendershot are regularly running down the field catching balls.

I’d agree about overall weapons but that’s not really the point of the thread unless they’re true receiving threats (Pollard is more of a traditional RB than hybrid pass catcher). We can include Schultz in the discussion but it doesn’t change my rankings at all.

Still near the bottom.

Sure they are because Lamb is being bracketed. Teams are literally using LB and S help to double bracket him at times. Throw in how our run game makes LB and S hesitate and you have a recipe for success.

Our offense is scoring more points than anyone for good reason. Schultz, Pollard, Zeke, Gallup, Ferguson, and Brown have been consistent as pass catchers all season long. None of them are world beaters but they can consistently beat single coverage. They have been outstanding on the red zone.

The TE’s are getting schemed open because they block well and Dak is a great as a ball handler and passing on the run out of play action. It all fits together quite well and the run threat does help the passing game IMO.

And Shultz for me does change the rankings. A couple like the KC move up but teams like the Jets, Titans, and Seahawks move down IMO. Shultz is a damn good TE

Yes, all accurate.

Part of my main point though has been the NFC is awful this year and we haven’t really been battle tested where the run games gets locked down.

If it does, my concern is who’s going to win and get open when Lamb is getting the attention and it’s 3rd and 7 and we can’t run the 3 TE set routes for 3/4 yards?

Schultz is a solid TE, but don’t sleep on that pair in Sea. Fant and Dissly is a good 1/2 punch.
