I don't really think this is true. Lest we forget Pollard actually PLAYED wide receiver in college. I don't know what his route tree looked like at Memphis but I know he caught a lot of balls and they weren't just swing passes and wheel routes. If Kellen Moore was a little more creative about using him I think he could easily slide over into a receiver position. Especially slot. But he obviously gets a lot more touches as a running back.. so my guess is that's the one he prefers. But the bottom line is the reason CMac shows more is because he is given the opportunity to do so. The Cowboys don't seem to want to use their backs that way. But frankly I think either Zeke or TP could give a lot more in the passing game if called upon.

That very well could be, but until I actually see it on the field CMac gets the nod because he’s done it…a lot.

For the sake of this thread, SF receiving crew is an easy dub over ours.

Yea, I’ve never been a fan of Washington and he’s coming off an injury as well. Don’t really see him providing much of a spark.

I hope they kick the tires again on Cooks in the offseason. The draft looks awful for WRs this year.
No doubt they need another receiver as Tolbert basically has been a draft bust thus far. Knowing the Cowboys, they probably look towards the draft again. One thing Washington might give this team, is more of a down the field threat.

Maybe Tolbert is a late bloomer…he’s got the traits but we don’t have time to wait.

Yeah no rookie can be called a bust halfway through his rookie season. Even first rounders generally take time to acclimate to the NFL. Especially at receiver, one of the toughest positions to transition from college to pro in the sport. Guys who played in the bigtime programs have less of an adjustment to be sure.. I'm guessing South Alabama didn't prepare Tolbert for NFL offenses OR defenses.

That's fair.. But reserve the right to keep bumping our group up as Gallup continues to get healthy .. Plus our group is going to have the much better QB throwing them the ball. Which as you know is a huge advantage.

100% on the QB…but my ticker is about out on MG. He’s been playing for several weeks and I’m just not seeing the same guy. The throwing windows are incredibly small whenever the ball goes his way.

Just not sure he has the same short area quickness to separate that he used to. He’s my biggest concern.

I think Gallup is fine when he doesn't have to cut on that surgically repaired knee. Have him cut the other direction, stutter-go, or straight fly and I think he's fine. That will limit him somewhat but I don't expect that to be forever. He's got 6 more weeks to work it out. And that end zone fade route against the Colts was a thing of beauty. To say nothing of what a dime the pass was..

Yeah too soon to throw in the towel on him but the mention of his name in a thread about where our WRs rank reminds me of the pure silliness some on this board exhibited when they claimed we didn't need WR at the beginning of the year because Tolbert would be at least a #3 on this team.

Looking across the 8 NFL playoff teams across the NFC / AFC how would you rank the Cowboys WR corp? I'd put them at 10 of 14 (ahead of the Giants, Titans, Jets and Ravens).

This is one of my biggest concerns heading into the playoffs considering opposing teams might sell out against the run and double Lamb.

Where do you have them? Any concerns?

The lack of depth and experience at the WR position is the only reason I considered adding OBJ. We are just one receiver injury away from disaster. Thinking that just having CeeDee and Gallup as the talent and thinking that neither will be injured is a gamble by the FO.

the quality, experience and talent is a huge drop after the top 2 guys.

CeeDee…definitely developing into a TRUE #1
Gallup….would be a # 3 on the top other 10 teams
Brown, Tolbert, Washington…….nuff said

Speaking of playoff WRs, what the hell is going on with Cedric Wilson? He has like 10 catches for the year in Miami. Is he hurt? While he's not AJ Brown or Justin Jefferson he played well last year so less than 10 catches or so seems odd to me on a team with a decent QB in Tua.

Yah, no issues with him moving in a straight line and he’ll always be a good red zone weapon. Just concerned if he’ll be able to pressure DBs and win 1:1 when we need it.

Really wish we still had him…

RBs 5th or 6th? Who is better? I think we may be #1.
D might be #2, just because we have so many playmakers.
Think I agree with the rest.
Yeah, I was being conservative.
The point is that there are no excuses....the roster is freaking loaded.

I don't think CMac's receiving ability is much higher than that of TP and with Garoppolo out they are going to be running him that much more. Money sez he's hurt before the playoffs start.
The need Mitchell back asap.
That guy is underrated

Yea, 100%. Should’ve done more in FA.

KC’a Corp pretty awful too with exception of Travis. Maholmes just makes them look good.

No he doesn't. Their production is pedestrian at best. That's why Kelce has the outrageous numbers that he has. Here are the numbers:

Cowboys trio of Lamb, Brown and Gallup
127 catches 1624 yards and 10 TDs.

KC trio of Smith-Shuster, Valdez-Scantling and Hardman
110 catches 1571 yards and 7 TDs

Both groups have a deep threat guy who missed time.
Hardman missed 4 games and Gallup missed 3.

But if Mahomes makes his guys look good clearly Dak is making his receivers look even better..

I think awful is a stretch. They have a 1st rounder and 2, 2nd rounders. Collectively more talent than our group IMO.

Kelce just takes the bulk of the targets.
