This is just a terrible argument.
Wanting Aikman is fine for nostalgia's sake and less jerk factor but the rest....
Dallas had the BEST 2 YEAR TEAM OF ALL-TIME in 1992 and 1993. Both squads rank as top 10 overall teams EVER.
So you can't use team strength against Favre or anyone in comparison to Aikman.
Dallas was awful early with Aikman, built to great and then fell off.
There is zero chance Aikman owns any decade long stat lines. He started 0-11 and finished 4-7.
Jimmy built those teams for a good time, not a long time.
Favre made the playoffs 11 times. He carried a lot of average teams to the SB. He was 40 years old in Minny and tossed 32 TDs and only 7 picks.
Troy did play VEERY well in the playoffs going 11-4. But he only had 1 game winning drive or 4th quarter comeback for his entire playoff career.
The team was just that good around him. And the concussions and back issues robbed him of a long career.
Favre has the 4th highest career approximate value. This is a number HoF use to help separate out candidates.
In the 1990s he (Troy Aikman) would become the winningest quarterback of any decade with 90 wins in the 10-year span
Oct. 3, 1993 – Cowboys 36, Packers 14
Brett Favre 21/37 174 0 0 69.0
Jan. 16, 1994 – Cowboys 27, Packers 17
Nov. 24, 1994 – Cowboys 42, Packers 31
Jan 8, 1995 – Cowboys 35, Packers 9
Oct. 8, 1995 – Cowboys 34, Packers 24
Jan 14, 1996 – Cowboys 38, Packers 27
Nov. 18, 1996 – Cowboys 21, Packers 6
Nov. 23, 1997 – Packers 45, Cowboys 17 (last game of Aikman vs. Favre)
