What does that even mean? "Dirty yards" means short-yardage runs. I'm talking about short-yardage runs. All of them.

(In a side bar)...I wonder if a few black eyes would suddenly improve general recognition abilities...?:)

you can't explain things to people who refuse to listen.
only drafting a back at 4 and watching him bust and this team win 7 games (like Gurley's Rams) will satisfy them.
so in about 3 years they'll be going..., oh yeaaaaa that makes sense now.

That part only works if there is a remnant of conscience remaining.

Funny how there seem to be more people who think it's important to have a good balance of run and pass than who understand why it's important. Maybe they're just parroting what they've always heard.

OL. 3 pro bowlers, 1 talented young player and 1 decent to good older player along with an elite level backup at G. They like Green enough to draft him in the third and they've been right about OLine a lot recently.

WR. Dez is a top end WR1. Williams is a WR2, he just can't elevate if he has to. Butler has some potential. Beasley and Whitehead have their uses. If we pick a WR early, before Round 5, I think its about future proofing the WR corps more then anything else.

LB as a group probably comes next. Lee/McClain is a very good pair and the base defense in the NFL right now really is some version of nickle. Hitchens is a perfectly good primary backup and we have several other players with some talent around.

DT is also a pretty good positions for us now. We have two good starters and then a collection of decent backups. If we draft a DT its going to be because someone we love slides.

CB is a solid position for us, not exceptional. I'd love more Ints. I think that lack comes from lack of pressure and the techniques that they were being taught. Hopefully Scandrick is healthy and comes back strong. That would actually make the unit move up further I think. Now we do have 2 CB that are basically on 1 year deals and don't have a lot of depth behind them. So a good enough position this year but could become a weakness quickly.

RB Morris/McFadden aren't good backs, but they're average backs who will play up behind this line. We need a scat back and probably someone else because McFadden has a bad track record for health and doesn't really fit what we like to do with out line.

TE its a solid position. Probably shouldn't put major resources into it until we know Witten is gone. That's the major issue with our 2nd round TE more then the players. The players have gone elsewhere and been alright to good. Could use a Witten replacement but I don't think this is the year.

DE has depth but right now looks like minimal impact. Lawrence could step up, down or sideways. Gregory is gone for a while. Mayowa is a toolbox we're gambling on. Russel is someone who we saw something in last year but didn't really do much. Could definitely use a stud, not likely to get that in the draft for this year.

S. We need one, but I honestly I don't think its as huge an issue as some do. Church has been a solid player until last year. Jones looks like he might be a very good deep S. It'd be nice to upgrade Church but I'm not sure its a dire need. Wilcox isn't great but is a cheap backup as is Heath.

QB If you tell me that Romo is going to play 14+ games I'll move this up to either 2 or 3. Romo, when healthy, is a top 5 to top 10 QB. When Romo isn't healthy we don't have a competent QB, which is pretty normal. Romo is closer to the end of his career then the beginning. To get a starter you're much more likely to get him in the 1st or early 2nd then anywhere else. The guys you draft later in the draft usually fail to become competent backups much less starters. I sorta want to see us spend 4 or 34 or just skip it, no half measures.
