Its not the stadium, its the fan base if you want to call them fans, that buy the tickets, show up to take selfies, drink wine, and talk to their friends during plays.
Until you actually go to a home game and experience this problem first hand, you cant even begin to understand where Im coming from.
Now there are your hardcore fans, but they get side swiped by all the yupies staring at their cell phones.

Teams love nothing more than to beat the Cowboys at Home. I bet if you done a survey we would be first on the list of favorite teams to beat. Add in the fancy stadium and it makes things worse....we get the best they have at home every time...

That would be New England.

Man, I can't even begin to explain the level of hate I have for slideshow lists.

32 individual clicks to see this list when you know damn well all anyone cares about is seeing #1, #32 and where their team is? Are you kidding me?

It's hard to be a difficult place to play when you can't get any consistency out of the team that plays there.

I didn't bother clicking through the stupid slide show, but I'm going to guess there are some pretty mediocre to bad teams that ranked noticeably higher than the Cowboys.

It's not just about winning. The culture of sports in and around Dallas is very different from other cities.

For example, I once saw a Miami Heat game in Miami. People were still strolling in all the way through the 2nd quarter. I've also seen a Cowboys vs Dolphins game there, and the crowd was pretty meh, you could hear the Cowboy fans more than the Dolphin fans.

I think the record is less about other teams bringing their best and more about dallas not being a great team during the life of the stadium.

I can recall a similar discussion when the Cowboys played at Texas Stadium. Dallas has never had a stadium that opponents dreaded coming to. Now we have certainly had TEAMS that opponents dreaded playing, but the home stadium/crowd advantage has never been one to brag about.

I'd say in terms of volume KC and Seattle would be tied for who can get the loudest?
intensity and over the top has to be between Philthadelphia and Oakland for their
obnoxious behavior making it hard for teams and fans to try and enjoy a game

I would be willing to bet you that the Pats would be at the top of any such survey...and it wouldn't be close.

Texas Stadium was a dump with a hard crowned turf. The good old days.

If you ask old timers who saw games at the Cotton Bowl, they would tell you that Texas Stadium removed the home field advantage.

Now, the Texas Stadium "less-than-old timers" are saying that AT&T Stadium has removed the home field advantage.

As ticket prices rise, the level of emotional investment in the team seems to dissipate, as strange as that sounds.

Now, with the new stadium, it's more about the spectacle of the stadium than the game being played on it. Large monitor over the field, artwork throughout the stadium, Victoria's Secret store in the stadium.

And, if you have been there, it's a beautiful place, no question. It's also not in any way intimidating to the opposition. It's like parking your car in Beverly Hills vs. parking in Compton - which would you be more comfortable with?

Green is the bottom line in Jerry's circus of a stadium. The first year that place opened, it looked like the players were walking through a casino to get to the field. From that moment on, I've been longing for the old Texas Stadium days where opposing teams hated to play. Jerry like's to be the biggest show in Texas. Problem is, he's forgotten that this is a football team and not a theatre performance. Lets get back to football Jerry and cut the BS already!!!

One of the problems is the number of visiting fans at the stadium.

We've all seen or experienced the inordinately large amount of travelling fans at AT&T, a great many season ticket holders have to sell on the secondary market to help offset the high costs.

Out of town fans see Dallas and the stadium as a great once a year trip and invade in large numbers, sometimes you can't tell what team is at home.

We have one of the worst stadiums in football. I hear more noise at a local library (and the food is better there, also).

I cant stand it. People are distracting and watch like half the plays. Always providing unwanted commentary and analysis. Aaargh. I prefer to sit 2' away from my flatscreen w a 24 pack from wingstop, my ipad on cowboyszone and no visitors. Thats how i roll

I think its the team that makes a place hard to play there or not.

New england plays well @ home, rarely loses. Tough place
L Green bay plays hard. Regardless of record .Arizona used to be a cake walk. All of a sudden team is alot better and that place is tough.

Dallas hasnt been good. Not consistently. So we see alot of losses @ home.
