Came across below info on Blue&Silver Report by Raphael Vela. Posting below cause I haven't seen it posted anywhere else. Sorry if this a repost.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Cowboys and WR Terry Glenn may resolve his situation today, either finding a common ground that will keep the veteran on the roster or release him.

I was put on alert yesterday that news could be forthcoming shortly but the team and Glenn clearly could not work something out. I was told by a source that “Glenn is better than any player available on the street,” suggesting that anybody pining for a Jeremy Shockey-like trade to fill the Cowboys #2 spot will be sorely disappointed.

I like Glenn... I really do.

BUT.. he is not going to make or break our season...

He is merely coming along for the ride with a few contributions... possibly.

If I were Jerry I would not go nuts trying to keep him on the team.

All true, but if we were to just cut him loose a team like philly would be all over him. We can't take the chance of him possibly going to a division rival or any other team competing in the conference.

it comes down to this.

A healthy Glenn is one of the better #2 WRs in the league.

Glenn is not, nor will he ever be, healthy.

What Glenn? The Glenn of 2006? No question. But the guy who wasn't healthy enough to play all of last year and apparently still isn't? Nah. Not buying that. Or any excuse for why he can't share the risk and sign the split contract.

If he's not healthy enough to play for the Cowboys, nobody else is going to take the risk either.

That may be true, he may not be healthy enough or it may just be the case that Jerry sunk 5 mill into him last year and he is making a stand that he is not doing that again. Someone else who does not feel they have wasted 5 mill on him might be more than willing to pay him 1.5 mill on the chance that he will last the season.

Are you kidding me? Every loss we had I can pin on him not being on the field! :laugh2:

I'll believe that when I see it.

Makes me wonder if Bill Parcels was still here, would Glenn be healthy enough to play

I don't think he's faking it or ever was. Maybe if BP was still here, he wouldn't be faced with the salary situation, though. BP had a lot of pull with Jerry and Glenn is his boy.

BP would get guys to play through strained muscles and nagging injuries that required guys to tough it out. Glenn has a legitimate structural issue with his knee.

The only thing that Bill would have done differently with Glenn is put him on IR rather than keeping him on the active roster.

Well it's not about him being healthy. He is healthy. He was healthy enough to play in our final 2 games last year. He hasnt had any surgeries that I know of in the offseason, so he is healthy.

The problem is, with his type of injury it's so easy to tweak it and re-injure the knee. That is what is holding him back is the settlement, not his health.

If Glenn is back, he gives us yet another weapon. He will not be the Glenn of 06 because he will not be asked to do the same things, but he will be another weapon added to an already potent offense.

I know, ***? He "may" resolve his situation...and he'll either stay or go?

What a profoundly stupid comment by the FWST. Seriously.

I am so tired of talking about whether he's coming to camp or not.

He's being selfish and everyone knows it. His best shot at winning a Super Bowl ring is in Dallas. I guess that's not really appealing to him.

I don't agree that he is being selfish.

I do think he kind of owes to Jerry after the 5 mill last year but......

If I was a 33-34 yr old player and I was taking a risk that I might damage my knee further, effecting my future health down the roAd possibly ,and I was set financially... would I really want to play another year for 500k?

Maybe not...

He signed a contract, Jerry signed it too, if Jerry does not want to live up to his end then all he has to do is say no.

There is little more he can do to his knee. He's looking at microfracture surgery one way or another and most likely he's going to need a new knee down the line. The issue here is whether he can stand playing on a painful knee the entire season.

And he wouldn't be playing for 500k, he'd be sitting out injured for that IF he didn't make it through TC.

completley agree....the cowboys will take the next step when this defense plays up to their draft status/money invested
