Jones has never vetted a long list of candidates before. Nothing has happened thus far in countering a repeat this time as well.

His super yacht time has highly likely been pre-planned months in advance. He is hopping onboard at a predestined date regardless of the ongoing interview process.

February 13 is the latest date (link) that Jones has hired a new head coach in the post-Jimmy Johnson era. Almost all hires occurred on either Wednesday or Thursday. I will go out on a limb (lol) and predict he will hold a press conference for his new head coach no later than February 12 or 13.

Just hire Witten and get it over with....... he's never going to be an OC or DC. So, give him Zimmer and Shottenheimer. Then he can just focus on stalking the sidelines and encourage players to try harder. Or, Make Witten the TE coach and just hand Jerry the clipboard and whistle.

I'm gonna say it...great player...great life story...however, he has some "meathead" in him.....a.k.a. Dan Campbell....and I don't think he is gonna be your quick minded game manager, making correct snap decisions.

I think Dan Campbell is what Jerry is hoping to get with Witten. Sure, Campbell makes decisions that make you scratch your head, but he owns up to it and explains why he did it. It's never a case of him being an unwitting moron. He rolls the dice and isn't afraid to lose.

I'm not a fan of hiring Witten after listening to him analyze games on MNF. He's absolutely a meathead.

We don't have a QB on the roster that can run a Kliff Kingsbury offense let's be real here. All his QBs have been mobile and able to escape pressure/throw on the run/run the option/run the quick screen game. Prescott is very limited in what he can do, he doesn't have the mechanics needed for that type of offense.

Lance is awful. Kingsbury couldn't make him into a QB and I doubt he would agree to come here and try.
