This is looking like the best case scenario, but we've yet to see anything official.

Just hire Witten and get it over with....... he's never going to be an OC or DC. So, give him Zimmer and Shottenheimer. Then he can just focus on stalking the sidelines and encourage players to try harder. Or, Make Witten the TE coach and just hand Jerry the clipboard and whistle.

Dallas needs to hire a coach who can instill some discipline in to this organization .A leader of men that the players would look up to and want to play hard for .Will Jerry's track record of meddling in the football operation hinder his chances of finding this kind of head coach.Dallas needs some good luck as much as anything else in this coaching search with Ol Jerry in charge.

What Jerry should do and what he actually does rarely align. He wants Witten but feels it's too big of a jump from head coach of Liberty Christian School to head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. He can't sell it. So, he needs someone who doesn't have strong staff preferences and won't mind teaching Witten the NFL coaching ropes.
