I highly doubt that this is his last game as a Cowboy, but the holdout part is entirely possible.

If we take a running back high in the draft, then the Cowboys probably are anticipating the holdout. A holdout would cost him a chunk of change though.

Since he is a high percentage of our offense that would pose some serious issues for the team.

no way.. he has a 4 year deal with 5th year team option, no?? He was suspended last year and that screwed us over, so I would remind him of that and tell him no way in hell do we redo his contract this off season. Whats the point of having these rookie deals in place if we redo them every time before they are up?

Doing that kills your cap money... I guess we should redo VanderEsch contract now also...while we are at it, Jaylon needs a new deal also.

if the guy working wall mart gets a raise, it does not impact a commodity that we care so deeply about. If there was no salary cap, I can promise you that not a single person would raise an eye brow over what these guys make. But since we know paying these guys early hurts the team we loves cap situation, thats why you see discussion of someones contract.

Zeke is priority #1 to re-sign. I'd sign Foles in the offseason, re-sign Zeke and try to get a deal done with Cooper and Lawrence.

Of course he does as well as Prescott and Cooper on the O side and they'll have to decide what to do with Lawrence and Lord Byron. And he's 2 out of 3 in the leading the league in rushing so he's got a case.

They just need to be really careful to avoid the situation the Steelers got themselves in because of what they paid Brown. They were really careless to think that wouldn't ripple and effect the best player on their team. Really stupid, they missed the playoffs because of not having the best combo back in the NFL on the field.
