This is just my take but I definitely think this has legs. It could be Jerry and Stephens's early message on how far they will go or else..........
Keep in mind, IF they decide to trade him

*** It will likely be to a team that already has a franchise QB
*** Def before the draft coz things could get toxic if he's forced to play next season w/o a new deal
*** There is no way his new team makes a trade w/o a pre-trade contract agreement
*** Parsons's leverage will be his refusal to sign any new deal unless he gets what he wants ( his choice of team and contract terms ). New could still make the trade and have him for three years (5th-year option (2025) and 2 tags ( 2026 and 2027) ) before making a drop dead decision.
*** Nick Bosa is currently the highest-paid defensive player........ ( $34M ...$122M guaranteed ). Likely Parsons floor.......
*** For contract neg.....is he an LBer or a DE? It matters.......

I'm not against it. You better get a massive haul to move him, but this is the type of move the Cowboys have needed to move for years now to proactively deal a star player. Honestly if they were serious about moving him doing it last offseason would have been perfect as his trade value would have been higher with an extra year of cheap control

what if he closes out the year getting a good number of sacks, does that maybe increase his value back up a bit???

Parsons is HoF caliber talent. You do not trade that away.

What we should do is actually invest in the front seven so Parsons can roam and rush on every play.

We'd be looking at multiple year DPOY if the team actually invested in its roster.

“Hershel Walker is HOF level talent. You don’t trade that away”.

You in 1989.
