If Stephen said you don’t do well in this league by letting great players leave the house then he’s pretty much ruling out trading Parsons.
Right, their MO is letting support players go and replacing them with lesser support players.

Based on this past off season, the Cowboys will not trade him. They will let it be a news item and distraction until a few weeks in to training camp before signing him to whatever number he wants. Meanwhile, there will be no meaningful additions to the roster, other than the draft.

The Jones' like to say "deadline makes deals". Unfortunately for them, only they have a deadline. The player doesn't.

He is an elite rusher and acceptable vs the run. Not very good, elite.

If they bothered to properly invest in the DT position he would be even better
. Caught a glimpse of that yesterday when OO had the game of his life. Convenient timing.

Trade him? No. Even if it’s two firsts you’re likely to end up with a replacement not nearly as good and the possibility of busting the other.
Yall keep pushing this narrative. Tj watt had 19 sacks last year with Hayward playing only 11 games. Enough is enough with the excuses.

I'll bet the FO says they haven't ruled a trade out, so other players won't get too comfortable. (If Micah's vulnerable, they all are!)

You don't trade HOF caliber players just entering their prime. Nobody does that. This isn't a Herschel Walker situation, where he is the only good player on the team and you need a huge haul for a complete rebuild. This team has talent and trading off the most talented player Dallas has had in years would be asinine. You build around this type of player, not trade it away.

This here!! Micah does so much stuff that benefits the defense even if its not showing on the stat sheet.

I really don't think they are going to trade him. And honestly, with how they've handled trades lately, I don't trust them to get back what he's worth!!!
Unless it's two first round picks and some middle picks I would say no but like you said these clowns will mishandle it and not get enough back. Mack was traded for 2 firsts, a 3rd and a 6th. Parsons is exactly that type of player Mack was when he was traded. More than likely the Jones clowns would get less so I hope they don't trade him.

You can't trade MP, except in extraordinary circumstances. He's the best pass rusher in the league.

You build a defense - even a team - around a guy like that, you don't trade him. The NYG didn't win a title til LT's 6th year. Of course, they had Parcells, that's an entirely different issue, but the NYG built everything around LT, not their QB. And they won 2 Super Bowls. If the Jones family would hire the right man and get out of his way, this thing could be turned around quick.

Trading 25 yr old Micah gets us further from the Lombardi, not closer.

What excuses? You think they are in good shape at DT?

I don’t consider it far fetched that edge rushers would be better with pressure from inside.
I'm saying dt has nothing to do with him fading in the year and in big games. If myles and Watt can do it he can......if he's what he thinks he is

What narrative?

According to ESPN, TJ Watt with his 19 sacks was double teamed at less than half the rate Micah was, and Micah still had a 10% higher pass rush win rate.

Getting sacks is often a function of a lot more than just a great pass rusher. But when the agenda requires it, all of that must be ignored.

I agree, it would have to be a major haul to even think about it.

I think the FO claims they haven't ruled it out, so the other players won't get too comfy. (If Micah's vulnerable, they all are!) :omg:

The Cowboys let what, a dozen vets walk away last offseason? I doubt any veteran is comfortable here, even those who should be. And with Micah, he knows he's going to get a king's ransom. It's not like Jones can intimidate him.

IMO, Stephen & Jerry hate the thought of cutting a $60 million check or whatever it will be for Micah's bonus, and that's the genesis of the Micah comments, not anything more.

More excuses. Yall pick and choose when analytics matter. Osa is always a top dt according to analytics so there's the help you're whining about.

It's all about the QB whether you go to the payoffs-superbowl or not and we do not have this on the roster at this time. Mahomes, Allan, Stafford, Jackson, Rogers, Brady, then brady again, etc....................Having a Micah on these teams was not gonna change the outcome. We have a Dak problem so with or without Micah makes no diff........

Maybe you think about it if a bad team offers, but the reality is, if we're offered 2 1st rounders, they're going to be from Buffalo or Philly or another good organization, which means you're looking at 2 late 1sts and a few other picks for a superstar. I can't envision a package that would make it palatable, we're not getting another Herschel Walker haul.

Keep in mind they just signed Dak to an extension ($60M) of $5M more than the highest-paid QB ( Burrow $55M ). Reports are Parsons is asking for a similar deal. Bosa is highest paid defensive ($34M) and Parsons is reportedly looking $40M, that's $6M which would definitely reset the market. In other words, Dallas would have players whose contracts reset the market but STILL need a bunch of more players/talent.
This is why IMO Jerry and Stephen may pause a bit if Parsons insist on getting $40M. Hell, $35M would make him the highest paid.......should that be enough?
