One, trading Parsons would be so outside the box in terms of what the Jones do. They sign their stars, they don’t trade them.

Two, if they are moving Parons due to his contract cost, what a disaster. Other than Lamb, Parsons is more valuable than any other big contract we’ve handed out in recent years. Yes, it would have been smarter to pass on extending Dak and then sign Parsons.

Three, there is zero doubt we’d get fleeced in a Parsons trade. Zero. Jerry sucks at trades.

He is an elite rusher and acceptable vs the run. Not very good, elite.

If they bothered to properly invest in the DT position he would be even better. Caught a glimpse of that yesterday when OO had the game of his life. Convenient timing.

Trade him? No. Even if it’s two firsts you’re likely to end up with a replacement not nearly as good and the possibility of busting the other.

Trading Parsons would make signing Lamb and Prescott look even more ridiculous.

Either fully rebuild or try to win. Pick a lane. Feels as if that’s another thing they don’t get.

This is just my take but I definitely think this has legs. It could be Jerry and Stephens's early message on how far they will go or else..........
Keep in mind, IF they decide to trade him

*** It will likely be to a team that already has a franchise QB
*** Def before the draft coz things could get toxic if he's forced to play next season w/o a new deal
*** There is no way his new team makes a trade w/o a pre-trade contract agreement
*** Parsons's leverage will be his refusal to sign any new deal unless he gets what he wants ( his choice of team and contract terms ). New could still make the trade and have him for three years (5th-year option (2025) and 2 tags ( 2026 and 2027) ) before making a drop dead decision.
*** Nick Bosa is currently the highest-paid defensive player........ ( $34M ...$122M guaranteed ). Likely Parsons floor.......
*** For contract neg.....is he an LBer or a DE? It matters.......

his value diminished greatly. he is in the last year of his contract, expected to be paid 24M. he expects to be highest paid defensive player.
the time to trade him was this year.

Part 3 Is the most important!!!!! Jerry should hold a sign up saying FLEECE ME BABY, we're open for business!!! Parsons is more valuable, how so? You can start to see some of the writing on the wall with him, do you really want to invest all that money in him

doesn't matter, he's not going to feel that way nor is it his agents job to feel that he's diminished, his starting rate will be at Bosa's rate, by his name alone that'll at least get him a million over what bosa is asking for or more

I like Micah. I think his supporting cast is hindering his dominance.
But ...
We're not going anywhere with him.
Unless it's a block-buster deal that sets us up for a franchise quarterback (Arch Manning next year) who may be able to overcome Jerry and son, keeping Parsons aint gonna lead us anywhere but to another early exit in the playoffs - if we even make it.
This franchise is so dysfunctional. I watching KellMo call plays like he's Andy Reid - something he did not do well here.
It's going to take luck or a franchise player who can elevate the entire team over the front-office ineptitude, and those players are usually quarterbacks.

Your take follows Stephen Jones saying in answer to being asked about trading Parsons:

"We love Micah. I can't imagine there's a scenario where he's not wearing a star on his helmet."

I know owners sometimes speak out of the sides of their mouths, but I see no reason to doubt that he was being sincere with his answer.

Everyone is tradeable for the right price. The price for Micah is very high.

So...Harry and Lloyd will probably do it for a 3rd.

“Hershel Walker is HOF level talent. You don’t trade that away”.

You in 1989.
The Minnesota Vikings bit (and bit hard) on Hershel Walker's College Football Hall of Fame level talent. It is still early in Micah Parsons' career but his chances of someday validating a currently perceived Pro Football Hall of Fame tier talent is higher now than Walker's was at that time. Perhaps Walker would have been thought more highly of, if not for his USFL detour before the NFL.

If Stephen said you don’t do well in this league by letting great players leave the house then he’s pretty much ruling out trading Parsons.

agree, as much as he's talked about as this ELITE edge rusher that many of us don't see, surely someone will make the deal

It makes all the sense in the world if you're cap strapped and your team has holes everywhere in the trenches. Jerry gauges his teams based on the number of "stars" he has though so I'll be surprised if he goes this route.
