The team may actually not see safety as a must have position.

Just a thought.

True. They might actually be high on Sensabaugh and grab a FS/SS in the 4th-5th. I hope they don't. Rashad is going to be a special player in this league. I think he's a steal in the 3rd.

I think 69 is going to come down to:

Jarron Gilbert
Juaquin Iglesias
Lawrence Sidbury Jr.

I wish Dallas could get them all.

I think Ellis' contract (among other issues for Ellis) says Sidbury Jr.

DeMarcus Ware needs a contract.

I really don't want Michael Johnson myself. The guy underperformed in college and flashed brilllance, but that's not going to cut it at this level.

Give me Sidbury and Johnson and I'll be a happy camper. Johnson wouldn't be my first safety choice especially at #51, but I'd be comfortable landing him in the third.

Guys available in the 3rd are not going to be without their flaws. If Michael Johnson played up to his talent, we would not have had a shot at him. I say take a chance on him based on his talent level. If he busts, well at least you only used a 3rd on him.

I'm surprised that there really are a number of guys I like still available. I wish Jerry would have moved up for Unger, but I can live with this. If we go WR, I really hope it's Louis Murphy. I just think he's going to be a good one.

I wouldn't mind Murphy myself. Of all the Florida games I've watched the past couple of years, all I've seen him do is haul in a deep TD catch once or twice per game. He just seems to have a knack for getting seperation.

I wouldn't hate picking up Rashad w/ one of our 3rd rd picks, he seems very instinctive.

I think he'll have to play a deep centerfield at the next level, however and keep plays in front of him. He doesn't have catch up speed and won't be much of a factor in run support.

Can Michael Johnson play OLB? If so, I'd love to have him. Other than that, I'd like D.J. Moore, R. Johnson, Louis Murphy, Derrick Williams, or Sidbury. I sucks that we didn't get anyone today, but we should get at least 2 good guys early tomorrow.

I don't know about that, but he has the frame to put on extra weight (imo) to play end if that's where the coaches want him to play.

He's not known for playing the run though. Not sure if he fits our system, though I do agree that he has a ton of upside.

Michael Johnson is a first round talent, maybe even top 10 talent, but he turned off teams with his attitude and some of his disappearing acts.

I'm not sure we need a guy like that. This team hasn't proven to be the toughest mentally the last few years/ I doubt Johnson would find anyone on this team that would motivate him enough to plays lights out each and every down.

I'm not as big on Sidbury as others on this board but at least he wil come in hungry and wanting to prove himself. I did not realize he was 6'3", I thought he was closer to 6'1".

I'm disappointed with us 1) not adding any players on Day One and 2) picking up even more Day Two picks but I'm hoping we have a better day tomorrow. I also hope we add some 2010 picks (much better draft).

With no other top safeties on the board and a few wide receivers, offensive tackles and linebackers still available with the second 3rd round pick, I say the Cowboys go Rashad Johnson with their first pick at 69.

Agree/disagree?

I can live with that, but I have a hunch if Casey is still on the board, that's your pick 69...

Of course, I haven't been right about ANYTHING thus far, LOL...

That would be my pick, but I don't think it's necessary for the trade today to make sense.
