They really really need someone with playmaking ability across from CeeDee. Nothing against Cooks who is just a solid guy but he did not make anything happen. The rest are pretty much #3-#4 types good enough to just make a roster but not make any big plays or be the main guy if CeeDee went down.

D+ only because of CD, the rest are jags. Sure, there is probably more to get out of them but they are all similar. Dallas needs a big, strong guy for jump balls and a speedy receiver to stretch the field.

Personal grade scale:

4.00 A+
3.75 A
3.50 A-
3.00 B+
2.75 B
2.50 B-
2.00 C+
1.75 C
1.50 C-
1.00 D+
0.75 D
0.50 D-
0.00 F

My grades per receiver:

A+ (4.00) CeeDee Lamb
B+ (3.00) Brandin Cooks
B- (2.50) Jalen Tolbert (Did show me improvement this season)
C+ (2.00) Jalen Brooks
C+ (2.00) Ryan Flournoy
C+ (2.00) Jonathan Mingo (not all his fault/not enough opportunities for me to go on after the trade)
C+ (2.00) KaVontae Turpin (grade could go higher for me IF they continue nurturing him as a receiver)

4.00 + 3.00 + 2.50 + 2.00 + 2.00 + 2.00 + 2.00 = 17.5

17.5 ÷ 7 = 2.5

My answer? B-. It is good to have a receiver like CeeDee Lamb skew an overall grade favorably.

Around the C range. Tough to put them any lower when you have a high end guy like Lamb, but after him is a lot of mediocre to bad players. Cooks is in obvious decline. Tolbert is a nice rotational piece, but should not be getting starter snaps at this time. Turpin is a plus gadget player, and has shown signed of evolving as a WR, but still a gadget player. Brooks may end up closer to not making the team than making it next year. Mingo had one of the worst statistical years in in the league. Flournoy....well he is the one guy from this group I really look at who could become an impact player getting regular snaps at some point. We really need to prioritize upgrading the position this offseason.

I think your grades for Cooks, Brooks, Flournoy and Mingo are extremely generous

It’s Lamb and maybe Turp and that’s really it folks. One FA or solid pick could change it though. Tolbert is a #4

If we didn't have Lamb, one of the best WRs in football, the grade would be less than an F-.

It would be like going through a semester and getting a zero on every single assignment, quiz and exam. That's how bad our WR corps is without Lamb.

Yeah. Understand why anyone would and will not argue that conclusion. For me, Cooks is still a solid but underused receiver.

Brooks and Flournoy are just pups on the depth chart. I am giving their skill set the benefit of the doubt from the little bit I have seen in actual games. I think they are pressing when they have been on the field but that is normal of really young receivers, who have not enjoyed ample playing time.

Mingo is my real question mark. I did not watch him often enough while he was in Carolina and he has gravely underused since the trade. I do think he has deep receiving potential but his opportunities in that aspect were pitiful wearing the Star.

This is just me rambling as an explanation, not necessarily as a justification for my generous grading. :)

I wish we had a OC who could take advantage of the WR we have. It's better than most think. Young group.

Some will say we need a speed guy. We have one, McCarthy doesn't use him.
Definitely waited too long to get Turpin more involved. I mean when you have cooks go down that's a perfect opportunity to just let things get wide open and fly just don't be messing around just go for it... I agree it's a good young group but we need to address wide receiver in the first 3 rounds I wouldn't even be upset if they took one in the first round if he's a dynamic type wide receiver I've been hearing guys like savion from TCU but I don't want another CD lamb type that moves all around I think we need an A.J. Brown type with more speed like a Trello Owens type we need a true outside receiver with speed that's big can wind jump balls we already got the motion guys we got the slot guys...

not really, I mean I agree with some of that, I definitely wouldn't argue we need a day one or day 2 wide receiver in this draft an outside guy with some size and speed.. We got plenty of the motion guys the slot guys etc..

but Tobert is a clear #3 he's getting better and there's no reason he can't be a number three option..

Yes he drops the football a little bit ,but I believe he's clearly in the same conversation as Gallup and I know you guys don't want to have this gallop had one great year but the rest of his years look just like Tolbert's last year they're not the same player he reminds me more of the guy we had prior to Gallup ie Terence Williams, but they all were 3s..

Here's what I think I know nobody wants to read these but I think a lot of our discussions and debates judging players are being skewed including the tight ends with Mike McCarthy's play calling game plan scheming the lack of a dynamic run game keeping our tight ends in the block all that stuff is really not gradable this year I I just think that it looks worse than it really is because of Mike McCarthy the offensive coordinator....

I just believe we have more talent on this team than he utilized especially the first half of the season seems to be his MO and I think we need to do a TBD this year with all the injuries the odd things that happened and hope that it works out better next year....

I agree , its TBD, it's kind of hard to debate what talent we have or not have with the way Mike doesn't scheme game plans to play calling the rope trees etcetera it's kinda hard you're not gonna make me believe that our tight ends took that big a drop the last two years and it didn't have something to do with the blocking schemes and the routes or the lack thereof with the separations and the depth and the timing of all these routes just seemed clunky to me....

I'm holding out judgment for now I'm hoping to get a new offensive coordinator and a new offensive staff at minimum we'll know that very soon but I have to agree with most people here we do need a new #2A clear #2 but I want a bigger body but with speed like an A.J. Brown type for the outside i think that's what we're lacking in this offense.. I know mingo's supposed to be that guy but I'm not depending on him but we have Turpin for motion and slot we have land that just does about everything what we need is a big wide receiver with speed then go up and win the 5050 ball we need another like Dez Bryant type to go along with lamb they'll compliment each other am I humble opinion....

Seems a lot of folks here are grading with a curve… wish I had you as my teacher.. Aside of CeeDee, and maybe Turpin, the rest would be camp cuts or at best PS players on other teams. Very poor group.

I gave them a D+ as a group. It would be an F without CeeDee.
