We can't let this thread die!

Just watched MacGruber. What a horribly, unfunny movie.

3/10.

Scott Pilgrim - 2.5/10
Shutter Island - 5/10...really liked it until the ending..ruined the whole thing for me
Brooklyns Finest - 5/10...I really liked this movie until the end too..

Easy A - 6.5/10 Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a high school based movie. Emma Stone is a plus, but there's not a whole lot here that's different from anything else. About on the level of Mean Girls (but with a much better lead).

Jennifer's Body (2/10): stupid premise, stupid story, stupid ending...but Megan Fox is so damn sexy I had to watch the whole thing!!!

Couple's Retreat (5/10): Typical Vince Vaughn flick. Got a few laughs outta me but was nothing to write home about...

Let the right one in: 9/10

I loved it. It was a Swedish film with subtitles but I barely noticed the subtitles.

The movie catches a lot of different senses from you but I also came away with so many questions.

I really hope they do a sequel. I'm hoping the American version (let me in) has a different ending that gives more closure.

Anyone else seen this?

Yep, definitely worth a watch. I've heard the U.S. remake keeps more in line with the book.

It has Hit Girl in it, so it'll be interesting to see how she handles another, completely different, mature role.

They have to make another sequel.

That movie is stuck in my head and I have so many questions.

That movie was artwork. I can't believe how good it was and how disappointed I am not knowing how things end for them.

Subtitles don't bother me either so I'm going to start watching some foreign films. There is amazing stuff out there.

The Other Guys 8/10

The heavy-handed anti-corporate bull**** at the end was unfortunate.

Went and saw the Town today, it wasnt great but wasnt bad either. Id give it a 7/10

The Town - 8/10. It was pretty predictable, but the performances were solid and it was just crafted very well. It's not a movie I'll want to see again really, but for a one time viewing it was very solid.

Devil - 4/10. Obviously cheaply made. Acting was subpar, and it wasn't scary in the least. Very predictable as well.

Catfish. 6 of 10 as a movie, (Boring, then very interesting, then flatllined at the end) interest level 9 of 10 for what it was about being a true real time documentary of what happen. (It's like Bob's life, but him being the woman in the movie) :laugh2:

Catfish was released to very few theaters. It's a documentary of sort about actual events as they happen. It basically ended up being about a Facebook relationship that ended up being a lie. The woman on the other end was a talented painter, but she was a complete book of lies.

The entire thing was documented on film by the star's brother and friend not knowing what was actually happening.

The odd thing was, when the movie finally ended, the star walked out with a mic and had a question and answer with the audience.

The following is a an actual pic of him at the movie theater in downtown White Plains NY that I saw the movie at.

(sorry image is quite big and poor quality at that)

Easy A ... 6/10

Pretty entertaining...had some good quotes like: "This is public school. If I keep the girls off the pole, and the boys off the pipe, I get a bonus"...LOL

Pretty standard teenage movie. Not the best or worst.

Ariel and I play together in the NYC Urban Basketball league, I think it's pretty funny that I've been hearing him talk about this movie forever and suddenly it's actually out there.

Gonna check it out at some point this week.

Read the book before I watched the movie, my fiancé actually turned me onto the book.

You couldn't get away with that type of movie in America, that's for sure but the Swedish version does leave some stuff out, perhaps for the best.

I HATE the trailers for the American version, I'll wait till it comes out on DVD. Figures the American version would have a nice tidy bow at the end.

The American - 6/10 - Wasn't a big fan for some reason, can't really put my finger on it though. Not a big Clooney fan though.

The Town - 8.5/10 - Very good movie, well scripted like others said and very enjoyable.

Devil

Wasn't bad...but not anywhere near as scary as I thought it would be.

I think it is very scary that M. Night Shyamalan is still allowed to make his crappy movies.
