The Great Gatsby 8/10

The parties were over the top and the hip hop type music in a movie set in the 1920s was silly.

Still, saw it late at night and didn't doze during the movie so that tells you it was good.

Peter Weller has a vested interest in the movie so his defense of it is moot.

Hangover 3- 8/10

It's different than the others, and not really as funny. But I love the cast and you can't dislike them.

Star Trek Into Darkness - 8/10. There is only one ST movie I haven't seen...it's the one this most closely relates to. That might have affected my enjoyment.

Now You See Me - 5/10. Somewhat enjoyable movie, but absolutely absurd. The ending was to a large extent predictable, but the thing that is their motivation is never really explained as well as it should be.

I can see how someone can apply that to Hangover 2 and 3 but I loved Hangover 1. It's something that I don't know how they keep making sequels for lol

Epic. Kids seemed to like it, while I really, really did not. Totally boring movie.

Agreed 1000% with this..

Took the kiddo and she was all in while I fell asleep periodically throughout. lol

I liked Croods a whole lot more than Epic.

A real piece of Canadiana.;) The TV series is pretty much the same stuff. Julian always has a drink in his hand. Each season starts with the boys getting out of jail and the season ends with them going back in. Glad you enjoyed it.:D

Fast and Furious 6 - 7.5/10

Wasn't a bad flick while going in expecting nothing but car chases and action.

The best part of the night was dinner afterwards at "The Fat Cow" next door. Lo and behold the owner walks in and sits 2 tables from us talking to his head chef. That owner was Gordon Ramsey, pretty cool. He is a lot bigger than I expected. I wanted to ask him to call me a donkey but the wife had an adamant "no", so all I got was a handshake and a "good to see ya".

Star Trek: Into Darkness 8.5 out of 10.

Words cannot express just how enjoyable this movie was to watch (but I am typing some anyway). We saw it in IMAX and it delivered on every level as far as I'm concerned. I never thought I would like the rebooted series as much as I do because I was such a huge fan of the original series, but the fresh, gritty perspective JJ Abrams has provided proven me 100% wrong.

Just a little bit of cheese that deducted one point and another .5 deducted for them not taking advantage of the opportunity to throw in a very obvious "post credit" peak at who the next antagonists in the series should rightfully be.

Star Trek: Into Darkness

9/10 Awesome movie. Not a big Trek fan, but the last 2 have been very enjoyable.

Hangover Part 3

6/10 - Not the best, but provided a laugh which is all I ask for with these type of films.

After Earth

1/10 - So bad. M Night Shamanalyananan, your time has been up.

Epic

3/10 Still better than After Earth.

Oz Great and Powerful

7/10 I enjoyed it.

Iron Man 3

8.5/10 - Cool film. Kept me interested.

Place Beyond the Pines

7.5/10 - Good film with decent twist that I didn't see coming.

42

8/10 - Loved it. Although could have ended better.

Sightseers

9/10 - Dark, twisted, and funny. A bit dry at times but so sick it's good.

I guess I'm getting old, but the last two Star Treks have been a couple of the worst movies I've seen. Horrible acting and unbelievable characters. It's like watching the cast of the Big Bang Theory running the Enterprise.

Jimmy, they can’t all be master thespians like Sir William Shatner and Patrick Stewart.
