Brutal movie. Hardly any nudity which was surprising due to the main setup. But still brutal and NOT for young eyes and ears. One of the guys from Dog Soldiers is in this movie.

Recently I went through the Final Destination movies. I know they are goofy but I still like them. Then I noticed that it appears they have a new one coming out in 2025.

Watched 28 days later and 28 weeks later. Now there is going to be a new one 28 years later so that has me interested. I will have low expectations for the possible new Destination movie. However I will have to try and temper my expectations for the upcoming 28 movie.

Heretic (saw this awhile back) 6/10 - I usually hate movies by A24, but rather enjoyed this quite a bit...until the last 3rd. I thought the first 2/3 was pretty great with good acting and dialogue, and atmosphere. It really built up a lot of tension. But, then it became pretty generic and lame.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ??/10 - Um...I don't really know. After the opening 15 minutes or so, I kind of slept through most of the next hour with only flashes of what was going on. This has been happening to me a lot more often lately. I used to never fall asleep during movies. I guess being a parent and have 2.5 jobs takes its toll. The last 30 minutes or so at the end seemed pretty in line with previous movies. Maybe a bit more of Jim Carrey being Jim Carrey, and a slightly darker tone. My daughter liked it, which is good, because my ex got mad at me for taking her to the movie instead of her girl scout "meeting" (what can I say, she's a daddy's girl and would rather spend time with her dad).

Moana 2 - Lame 5/10 (Relative to the first, since I don't really care about all the Disney "princess" movies - especially if there are songs). Felt like it should have been a straight to video movie, but they decided they'd pay the main actors for it and throw it in theaters instead.

Kraven - Ugh 3/10. The opening was solid, then it just sucked. It did not help that the theater started the movie 15 minutes late and then the audio got out of sync and for 10 minutes was playing audio from 20 minutes later in the movie. They paused the movie for another 15 minutes to resync it, and didn't bother to go back to where the issue started. So, there's 10 minutes there where we have no idea what people were saying. However, judging by the rest of the movie, I'm sure it wasn't very worthwhile.

Kraven
- Had potential. Starts off strong but kind of fizzles out after a bit.
Should have had better character development and more explanation of various powers he possesses.

Guy Ritchie's The Covenant - Been some time since I watched it. Forgot how much I liked it. If you like these types of movies and have not seen it yet...do yourself a favor and watch it.

The Six Triple Eight - New Tyler Perry movie on Netflix. Pretty good movie. Of course I enjoy most movies that are based in WWII.

Greyhound
- Watched it before and still like it. WWII Tom Hanks is a Capt of a destroyer ship helping escort ships across the Atlantic and fighting **** Subs. This movie seems to go by so fast. Except for the first few minutes of the money it is all action. No real pauses in-between situations.

The Thicket - I guess Tubi is making movies now. This one is not bad. Dinklage always does a good job IMO. Juliette Lewis does a decent job in this. The voice threw me off but then realized they had a reason she was doing that voice.

Cuckoo - This is one of those weird ones. It did keep my interest even if some of the stuff was goofy.

The Covenant was really good, and I don't usually care for war movies.

Red One 9/10 All Star Cast and Funny!

Yes!! I just watched this movie myself. I really enjoyed it. I thought it had some good action and humor with a festive twist. While it definitely has a lot of silliness, I thought it delivered an enjoyable experience that’s hard not to like. I was very pleasantly surprised.

It's on Prime for anybody that's interested.

I Didn't even know there was a sequel. It was about as good as the first one, but maybe a little cornier. It is what it's meant to be, and I liked it. I give it a 7/10.

Chloe Grace Moritz should be a household name. Even at whatever young ages she was in these movies, you could tell she was special, IMO. She proves it in more recent roles in The Peripheral, as well as Carrie, and other roles.

The Ref - 5/10.

It was recommended by a Youtuber as a Christmas movie to check out if you haven't seen it yet. I can't say I agree. The last 20 minutes or so is OK, but the rest of the movie is kind of garbage. Not very funny.

The Cell.
J Lo, Vince Vaughn and Donofrio
Older movie.
But the scenes and some of the Costumes in some sequences are amazing.
Not very often I think about how awesome the costumes are in a movie.
But this one kills it.

Elevation - My wife and I rented this movie last night, and while I found it entertaining, it left me wanting more. The backstory was intriguing but felt underdeveloped, leaving much to the viewer's imagination. You’re thrown right into the story, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I think it could have used a little more setup to give it a stronger foundation.

That said, I did enjoy it and thought it built tension well. There’s a "twist" at the end, but it didn’t come as much of a surprise to me. Still, the plot had potential, and the suspense kept me engaged. Overall, it was a fun watch, but with a richer backstory, it could have been even better. Who knows? Maybe there’s a sequel (or even a prequel) in the works?

It's on Amazon for anybody wondering. It was $20 to rent, but we figured that was cheaper than going out to the movies.

Gladiator 2 - Not bad, Denzel Washington and Paul Mezcal were great, story was a little weak, they forced that Lucius angle a bit too much I thought. Felt small and didn't have that epic feel like the first.
Carry On - Meh, Jason Bateman is good, story is ok, action sequences are not great. I liked the cat and mouse of the first half better than the action of the 2nd half.
Deadpool and Wolverine - Good fun action movie, there's only so much Ryan Reynolds I can take and he toned it down a bit. Not bad.
Die Hard 3 - On Christmas Day, wanted to rewatch a classic. Love this movie, just a good and fun action movie.

I watched it with the kids. Thought it was ok. Was caught off-guard with all the cussing for a PG rating so I got some side-eye from the wife. Felt like the movie didn't know if it wanted to be dark or be a tongue-in-cheek Christmas flick. I was hoping this would be a great addition to the holiday movie rotation, but it's not meant to be.

The Beekeeper - 7/10

I kept putting this off thinking it was going to be stupid and corny. It kind of was but I enjoyed it because I like those shoot em up and take names later movies. It is worth a watch if it is free.

You have to like Denis Leary, but I loved this movie. It's not the greatest of Christmas movies, but I enjoyed most of it.

Sonic 3 - it was decent 7/10.
Red One - Better than I thought, only so much of the Rock I can take 8/10.

IIRC it was going to be going to Disney+ till Iger wanted it made into a Movie.
Will wait till it hits Disney+, as like others, I'm tapped out for movies with the Rock in it.

Watched Nightmare before Christmas in one sitting. Been like 20+ years since I've seen it.

8-10. 10-10 for the efforts for the stop animation. Story was ok re-watching it as an adult.
Songs were placed well/not overdone.
