I absolutely was under the impression the FF came from an alternate universe. I just don't care for the ascetics of that universe, for the most part. I was also under the impression that their timeline was earlier, based on the ascetics, but I think maybe the architects and designers, etc. just took longer to evolve their creations.

But the physics...

Even just having a being the size and proportions of Galactus being able to walk is wrong. And don't even get me started on the stuff that happened in space.
I understand about the visuals, but it is a reflection of the Multiverse Saga Phase. Different universes. Different takes by the beings in that universe. Sometimes small differences. Sometimes absurdly different. Comic book movie copying comic book imagery.

I had been waiting patiently to get your opinion about Galactus knowing how you feel about physics. :) For what it is worth, his movie depiction is relatively shorter compared to how he was initially drawn in the book. :D

The Smashing Machine. 5/10

I think 5 might be generous. I am a big MMA fan and watched the original documentary back in the day. This movie was kind of beat for beat just a remake of the documentary, but not as interesting because it's a re-enactment. The Rock was getting a lot of hype, but he was pretty wooden. Just because they slapped some makeup on him doesn't make it an amazing performance. Emily Blunt was good. I am generally a fan of the Safdie style, but it didn't fit this movie. Don't waste your time.

Thanks for the heads up. Was thinking of watching it.

Older movie I have just never watched. Harrison Ford does a good job. To the point where you want to slap the crap out of him. lol

Been looking forward to seeing this one for some time now. So disappointed. Terrible camera work, story is discombobulated. The only good thing is the practical effects like in older movies.

One Battle After Another: 7/10

This is a weird movie and probably not everyone's cup of tea. I am a big Paul Thomas Anderson fan. It took me about 45 minutes to get into and see what the movie actually was, but after that, it was awesome. The acting was great all around. There is a car scene at the end that is shot beautifully. I docked it some points because of the slow start. Leo's performance was amazing.

This movie is like a mix between Fargo and the Big Lebowski, but not at good as either.

That car whole car scene was pretty cool.

With that said. Not the biggest fan of this movie. I don't think I would end up buying it later. Not even sure I would bother watching it again aside from the car/chase scenes.

Overall it was just kind of slow. Kind of discombobulated.
But where you like Paul Thomas Anderson....I find his stuff very hit and miss. His movies sometimes have amazing visuals, amazing acting, some great scenes but also seems to not blend together very well and some are very boring. I think the only one I have seen that really flowed throughout was Boogie Nights. There will be blood has amazing visuals, amazing acting and some amazing individual scenes but they tend to also have a ton of boring areas in the movie that you just want to fast forward through. I thought the same of Punch Drunk Love. But that is just my opinion. There are a few of his movies that I have not seen so maybe I would like them.

I used to love some of the cheesy cult classic type movies from the 80s. I had not seen Deathstalker. This is a remake of it. Just found it too silly to keep watching. Now maybe if I had watched the original back in the day I would like it.

I remember BeastMaster movie. It was cheesy and silly but it was a fun movie back when I was younger. I imagine I could still enjoy it now. I would also think it could be a cool remake with the right cast.

But this one was a miss for me.

Shelby Oaks 7/10

Competent debut by YouTuber Chris Stuckman. The script was kind of all over the place and the ending was odd. Not the best movie, but not bad.

“Tomorrow When the War Began” - The Australian Red Dawn. I liked it even better due to the awesome Aussie music like Powderfinger and Missy Higgins, and the character development. Popcorn movie I think you’ll like.

Caught Stealing: 6/10

Didn't know what to expect, as I knew nothing about it. The first 30 minutes is pretty good, but it really bogged down in the middle. I had no idea it was a Darren Aronofsky movie until I saw the credits. The acting is good all around. It's OK, but can't recommend it.

I kind of liked it. Had no clue what it was about and I do not think I had seen any trailers.

Went in with low expectations. But it was a fun action movie if you just wanted a mindless action movie. Reminds me a little of another recent one Eanie Meanie ....just a mindless action movie that had fun parts.

Horror movie that takes on folklore from India. They are a family in America and the teen girl is trying to fit in. One of the other families son somehow opens up an evil and now it is moving to her friend. Not bad. I think it has been on netfix for a long time and I just ignored it as I thought it was going to be in india and a bollywood type movie. But it was mostly in english.

There was an old Sally Fields movie with the same name. This is not that one. Oddly enough it is also listed on some platforms as Night Terror.

It is predictable and nothing special about it. But it is on the OK level if you do not expect too much. I watch so many horror movies and some of them are really bad. So when you get a meh one, I am ok with it.

Now this one...yeah I would not be shocked if this was straight to dvd or a slightly better SyFy channel movie. There are worse out there but do not expect to much from this one.

This is for the people interested in UFOs or UAPs I think they called them.
It is a documentary and it is interesting if you are into that or curious about it. Quite a few people talking about it with some government members or various groups. It is kind of interesting but I also wish they had some more footage of various things. They tended to show the same few video clips multiple times. There was one section where they were talking about possible ways these objects seemed to defy physics and it reminded me of the movie of Explorers some.

Nobody 2 - I really enjoyed this movie (and the first one). It delivers exactly what it promises: sharp action, dark humor, and a lot of pure fun. The pacing is tight, the fights are brutal and well-acted, and that contrast between Hutch’s calm exterior and his lethal skill set still hits perfectly. It’s entertaining from start to finish, and if you’re into the idea of a regular guy turning into a full-on badass, you should entertain watching these movies.

Bugonia: 9/10

Great performances all around. It takes a bit to get going, but it is a slow psychological burn that morphs into something else. The cinematography is great. I docked a point because they could have tightened up the script a bit, but I think it's the best movie I have seen this year.

If you liked the first one you will probably like this one.
Over the top action where you might actually say BS out loud. Things that would never happen and someone would never survive. But it is still a fun watch if you want over the top mindless action.

Modern movie set in the 80s with a good vibe for that type of horror/slasher genre. This movie is basically split into two parts. The first part is classic 80s teenager baby sitter set up. But later this movie goes into another direction. This is not another movie that tries to copy the main character as a Jason or Michael Myers. I really liked this movie. Might be one of the better movies of the genre this year.

Both sound right up my alley. Never heard of them. Thanks for posting.

The Old Guard 2. Finally got around to watching this. Not as good as the first one, and I don't particularly think Uma Thurman was the right pick for her role, but still:

7.5/10

I think they were going to make a third part to it, but I don't think the second one did as well as expected so not sure if they are still doing a third part
