Rate the last movie you saw



Neither have really hit the awe and exp as the first avatar movie.
Just getting redundant and frankly these movies are just too long esp for a franchise that is slated to have a number of movies.



It is ok. Liked the first one better. Samar Weaving looked different in this one for some reason, I had to do a check just to make sure it was the same actress. The constant battle with her and her sister fighting got old as well.



I had not read the book so going into the movie with pretty much of a blank slate about what it was about. Pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed the movie and humor. Most who have read the book are happy with it. I would probably read the book now if people said it was much better.



It was ok. Another one I had not heard much about. This guy seems to be getting a lot of roles in movies but not sure he is the next big thing like they seem to be banking on. Not that he is bad. Just kind of generic to me.
 


Do yourself a favor and just pass on this one.:cool:



Not bad for a movie I had not heard about. The monster is like a generic version of Pumpkinhead...pumpkinhead was a lot cooler. But for what it is, an 80s style monster movie based in the 50s...it was not bad. Just go into it with a B movie frame of mind.



Pretty lame but have seen worse. I would rather watch this than Jakobs wife.



This one has many flaws but hard to make a movie where almost all of it is filmed in an SUV. Only so much could be done.



Was really looking forward as the preview looked kind of cool. Sure it is a b style straight to video type of movie but it really let me down. Maybe if I had knew it was based off a horror video game I could have adjusted my expectations.
 
Finally got around to watching "Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning" and John Wick 4. Both were dope. and better than their predecessor and the ending of 4 did his character justice. John Wick 3 was a disappointment.

I stopped watching the Mission Impossible franchise after the second one. The scene of Ethan and the bad guy going high speed at each other on motorcycles, both jumping off the motorcycles in the air to crash into each other, then being able to get up for a fistfight was beyond believability. I've been in a motorcycle accident and didn't crash into anything. They weren't going to be able to fight and be okay. But it did live up to the name. Mission Impossible.

2 was basically John Woo action movie, unlike any of the others. I’d suggest you get back to watching the newer ones, completely different vibes overall. Even the major stunts that define each movie are done by Tom himself.
 
I revisited Spaceballs last night for the first time in a while, and man…I just love that movie. It’s absolute comedic excellence that perfectly blends absurd humor with that intentionally cheesy parody style. It never takes itself seriously, and that’s exactly why it works so well.

Hollywood doesn't instill much confidence in me these days, but I'll continue to stay hopeful for the sequel next year. Going to miss Barf, though.
 
Normal - 5/10. By some of the creators of John Wick and Nobody, but not nearly as good as either. Closer in tone to Nobody with some humor to the violence, but the movie just felt completely flat to me. I didn't care about any of the characters (who all seemed indifferent to each other as well), and the action, while decent, didn't really have anything exceptional.

Lee Cronin's the Mummy 6/10



Could have been really good, but had some real issues. Pacing was bad and the characters were really dumb. The main girl was great in the role. The film looked great. It is super gross, so if you are into that kind of horror, you will like it. I didn't think it was horrible and it was worth a watch.
 
Not Without Hope 7.5/10

Based on a true story, four men capsized in the Gulf off Florida. Two were NFL players. Josh Duhamel is the main star, it is worth a watch if you are into these sort of movies.
 
Been watching some mind freak movies. I plan to watch more.

Donnie Darko: 8/10 I first watched this as a teenager, so it kind of stuck with me. I haven't seen it in years, but it still holds up. I like time travel movies, so this was right up my alley.

Memento: 8/10 Christopher Nolan's breakout movie. I also saw this as a teenager, as it came out around the same time as Donnie Darko. Cool concept that was actually executed really well. Inception and Interstellar are two of my favorite movies, so you can see that this movie crawled so those could walk.

I think Donnie Darko is overrated but I also think Momento is underrated.
 


An older one but I still like it.
The real standout for this movie is the makeup and wardrobes they make for the Vincent Vincent Donforio sp? character.
 
Guy Pearce has some good movies.

Continuing with mind freak movies:

Tenet: 6/10

John David Washington is no Denzel. He can’t carry this type of movie. In typical Nolan fashion, lots of the dialogue is hard to hear. Most of the dialogue is exposition explaining the overly complex concept of the movie.

The action sequences are amazing, but they put too many layers and plot points in, which made it too complex to stay interested.

This review from Reddit summed it up:

The story is not actually that complex, it's just explained poorly and half the time you can't hear crap anyone is saying.
