Rate the last movie you saw



Liked Homefront and the Beekeeper better (beekeeper is free on tubi right now) but it was better than the working man IMO.



If this came out in the 80s it would still be cheesy and bad but it would also be one of those that would wind up being a cult classic drinking game kind of movie. But it is bad.



Not bad for what it is. If you liked the final destination movies, you will probably like this.



This reminds me some of The babadook. Kind of lower budget, slow but still creepy in parts.
 


I think they dropped the ball on this trilogy. Think they could have done much better with the origin story. I liked how this last one turned out but think it could have just been a stand alone one.



Seems this is also called Devil in the Dust? Lower budget. Not the best movie but for whatever reason if you can get past parts of it...it is kind of good. Bill Pullman does a good job at the end of this one. And Guy Pearce normally does a good job even in some of these lower budget movies.



Been looking forward to this one so it was a bit of a let down. It is ok, I just had higher expectations. Reminds me of the some of the 80s Night of the living dead movies. Some gore and some humor.



****The trailer has lots of adult language****
If you like the Madea movies and like Joe, you will like this one. Madea not in it much. But the warning at the beginning is accurate. Again like the trailer, this movie has Lots of language so not good for young ears.
I am a sucker for Madea movies. I like the other characters in it but this one is mostly joe and the boy. Still had me laughing at times.

The Prey version was meh, I thought the Native Americans weren't that believable, but it was still better than the last 3 attempts to clone a Schwarzenegger story without Ahney. The animated one was fun to watch.

I like AVP franchises better than Star Wars, Star Trek, and whatever else is popular in the genre. But it's definitely hit and miss.

I didn't mind the Prey movie, but yes, some of the others have been very meh.

The wife and I did a little Predator mini-marathon this week. We watched Badlands, then revisited the OG movie (an absolute perfect classic), and then we watched Predator 2. I hadn't seen Predator 2 in so long.....talking decades. It's pretty cheesy, but it’s got a lot of that great ‘90s action movie charm.

It was a shock to go into the theater to see Predator 2 to find Schwarzenegger not in it.

It was still a fun action flick, but definitely a far lesser cast than the first.

I liked it as well. I have been waiting to rent it for around $6.99 on DTV stream for a bit. I quit waiting about a week ago and got it for $19.99 not remembering that I have Disney+ for free :muttley: :mad:

just saw the special screening tonight in IMAX.
fantastic.
the performances explode off the screen.
it was great to FINALLY see more of the scenes filmed for his 2 concert films...thats the way it is and elvis on tour.
plus the filmed interview segments for on tour...combined with footage from his news conferences in houston for his astrodome shows in 1970...and madison square garden in '72...allowed you to hear the man himself tell his story.
it was excellent.
some day soon...we might finally get a full release of his hampton roads concert filmed for on tour...or the full greensboro show.
this movie gives me hope baz isn't done telling elvis' story.
 


Aussie movie. Parts of this one are just brutal. They do not take it to visual limits that some have so it is not as gory or amounts of nudity.
But still brutal in differing ways.



Still not as good as the first two movies. But I did think it was much better than the disappointing third one.

This is one of those movies that someone should do a remake on and it could not only be much better but would reach a new audience that has never heard of the original.



Parts of this one I liked. Parts of it seemed silly. Not as good as the gary oldman version.
 
Jurassic World Rebirth – Just watched this on Netflix. Overall I found it entertaining, though definitely a little cheesy at times. A few character decisions pulled me out of the experience.

That said, the special effects were top-tier. The dinosaurs looked incredibly real, and the action sequences were visually impressive.

These newer Jurassic entries just can’t quite capture the magic of the original Jurassic Park for me, but as casual couch entertainment, it gets the job done.

I think the first one used up all the possible tricks: Kids in danger - Check
Naive old man, accidentally creating a horror situation - Check
Finding out dinosaurs were intelligent - Check

Plus, there was the awe factor of seeing very realistic dinosaurs for the first time.

Plus, there were just some really stupid scenes that completely took me out of the movie:

Spoiler if you haven't seen the movie - They make their way to a river and then just happen to spot a boat along the river. So naturally, they send the daughter, who conveniently finds an inflatable raft, and then proceeds to loudly drag it down a dock right next to a sleeping T-rex. Then her next logical move is to inflate that raft 30 feet from the T-rex's face.

Later they stumble across a convenience store in the middle of the jungle that magically regains power the second they walk up to it. And, of course, there’s a dinosaur casually hanging out in the ceiling tiles, just waiting for its dramatic entrance. It’s all so ridiculous.

I watched this one a while back and for me, there’s simply no story left in the franchise.

Other than another bite at the cash ‘apple’, there’s no reason why this film should exist. It does nothing to reenergize the franchise or take it in any new direction.

Just more of the same. For me, they’ve hit a creative dead-end.

It’s a money grab at this point. I like dinosaurs so I will keep watching them :muttley:

They need to fast forward millions of years and start a new franchise centered around the Ice Age/Stone Age. Neanderthals vs homo erectus fight for resources and survival all the while facing the megafauna.
 
War Machine - A new movie that is out on Netflix. I thought it had good action, an interesting "twist" in the middle (especially if you go in blind), and kept a solid pace the whole time. There’s a little bit of cheese here and there, but that’s pretty standard for action movies, especially these day. Overall, I thought it was an entertaining ride and definitely worth watching.

It seems like Alan Ritchson is carving out a pretty solid lane for himself in Hollywood.
 
If you like action martial arts, "Diablo" on Prime with Scott Adkins and Mark Zaror is great for the fight sequences. The last fight is definitely up there among all-time great choreography. The story is not bad, they gave Mark Zaror's assassin character Anton Chigurh vibes from "No Country for Old Men" vibes.

Also, if you haven't seen "Raging Fire" with Donnie Yen, top-tier. The last action sequence is basically an ode to the "Heat" armed robbery scene and the final fight between Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse is off-the-charts. That's also on Prime and I believe it's still free.
