Anchorman 2. I thought it was very funny, not as good as the first one but I'd give it 8/10

It's amazing.

Will Ferrell is pretty darn funny in "skits" on SNL.

He is embarrassingly awful in all movies.

Elf is his claim to fame movie-wise.

Adam sander is horrible too but at least he finishes the one liner jokes. They might be the same from every movie but he finishes them. Ferrell doesn't.

"The World's End".

5/10

I was surprised that it was that bad.

Very disappointed. And I'm a big Simon Pegg fan. "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" were much better/funnier.

It took 40 minutes of movie to get a chuckle out of me. The character development was weak.

I feel the same way about Ferrell movies. He's simply not funny.

Well ya, compared to the guy on your avatar, I can understand. lol.

Yeah, you're right there.

I was thinking along those lines this morning.

If someone gave "Anchorman 2" an 8, what would they give "Duck Soup"... a 15? LOL!

Saw the new Paranormal today. 5/10. Characters gelled together well. The movie wasn't one bit of scary. It had more funny scenes than anything else. The worst of all installments.

Agreed. I am not a huge fan of the other two movies, but they were much better. Most of the characters in that movie were interchangeable, and Pegg's character was just obnoxious.

Great point.

I was stunned when I went to IMdB and found that folks had given this movie a 7.1 rating... really?

And then the double-stunner was finding out that "We're the Miller's" had the exact same rating... "The World's End" as good as "We're the Miller's?" You gotta be kidding.

Haven't seen it myself, but doesn't surprise me that this movie isn't very good.

What he did on the "Halloween" remake was brutal.

Agreed. Successfully dug up the buried franchise after Resurrection and then buried it deeper.

Ferrell's characters use one liners because they rarely understand the full understanding of the term they are using or are being ironic (Burgundy, Ricky Bobby, Mugatu, Jackie Moon, Kenny Powers (his creation), Step Brothers, etc. I will acknowledge that Ferrell needs a strong comedic director to reign him in because his stuff starts flying over most folks heads, etc.

Wolf of Wall Street

I'm not sure how to rate it. Martin Scorsese definitely captured the excess to which this guy lived on the big screen. I'm not sure if it means it was a good movie or not by others standards. I enjoyed it. Not my favorite movie, but I liked the direction. I could have done without Jonah Hill. DiCaprio was good. Don't watch it if you are sensitive to sex, drugs and more sex and drugs. It is extreme, but I believe that was purposeful.

Definitely want to see that, love DiCaprio and tends to pick good movies. They keep sticking Jonah Hill into dramas bc of Moneyball. "This is the End" is probably the best comedy to come out in years...plot is completely idiotic but the dialogue between the comedians is golden.

My man Will...give you he hasn't carried a movie on his own since Anchorman; still comedic brilliance:

John Heder (Jimmy): “I see you got fat.”
Will Ferrell (Chazz): “I see you still look like a fifteen year old girl but not hot.”
Jimmy: “You crushed my dreams.”
Chazz: “Dreams? I haven’t had one of those in years.”
Jimmy: “Zip it, Chazz. Zip it or I will punch you in your crap lousy face.”
Chazz: “Hey, this ends tonight.”
Jimmy: “It’s daytime, you ******.”
