You have to think what does this mean? Are the Cowboys looking to bring in a DT? I dont know what this means in terms of cap for this yr. Anybody know? Does it basically take away the remaining base salary for the remaining 10 weeks?

Atleast this is a sign of dead weight being dropped. I like the stance lately of the team. They told Free either take the pay cut or get released. Now releasing dead weight.

I am more concerned on how this is going to affect Hatcher. Will Jerry now be gun-shy because of what happened with Rat and Spenc? Or will this force JJ to sign Hatcher because he lost those two?

I don't even know if they should bring Hatch back. He will command some dinero and there is lots of dead money next year along with some holes along the line.

I wonder if Jakar will be brought up or if they are going to sign another Dline. Once Murray and Dunbar are healthy obviously they can open up another spot for Dline help as well and go real heavy on that side to offset the injuries for this season

1. Ratliff was on the PUP. He was not taking a roster spot.

2. It appears that they gain about 600k of cap space this year with his release. All of the dead-money (6.6M) from his contract hits the 2014 cap.

3. David Carter (DL) and Greenwood (CB) were cut. Jarius Wynn (DT) was added. One spot is still open.

4. As of now, we don't know that Ratliff did anything wrong. It is all wild speculation.
