Joey Harrington-QB-Ravens Sep. 1 - 5:10 pm et

Ravens signed QB Joey Harrington, formerly of the Falcons.
Harrington was better than Chris Simms in Monday's workout, so he got the nod. Simms should start exploring options in Dallas and Chicago. Harrington has little time to get ready for the opener and probably isn't a candidate to start against Cincinnati, but was needed with Troy Smith and Kyle Boller out indefinitely. Look for Boller (shoulder) now to go on injured reserve.

Maybe the Simms workout and potential signing with Baltimore is what spurred the Bollinger rumors? Maybe Simms comes back into the picture?

Did I read that right, Simms was just beat out by Joey Harrington?

When has Baltimore made a wise decision when it comes to QBs?
exactly they let derek anderson go
kept kyle boller

That was my first thought! Joey Harrington is perhaps the worst QB I have ever seen next to Babe Lauffenberg. If Simms could not beat him out do we really want him? That is pathetic!

He's not that bad. I think Andrew Walter is worse.

i dont know if simms is that bad or not, or if he hasnt fully recovered from his spleen injury, thats why i was asking hostile, if anyone does he does know

another thing to think about, someone posted it, the ravens have had terrible luck with QBs, some of that i think was their ex coach, whom i never liked, he was totally arrogant

anyway, like someone mentioned, the ravens let derek anderson go, so maybe nothing to worry about with harrington beating out simms,

again this was from rotoworld too best i remember and you have to watch what rotoworld puts out, they are notorious for putting stuff out there that isnt true

Im sure Simms has a long ways to go before he is where he needs to be after the injury he suffered.

Hes got a big arm and we need someone like that to run our offense.

Not a noodle arm.

Harrington > Ryan Leaf
Harrington > Spergon Wynn
Harrington > Henry Burris
etc. :)

As for the Chris Simms posse, how many of you are Longhorn fans? I can't think of any other reason why some are so enamored with bringing him in (other than his youth compared to Brad).

I don't know that Simms is an upgrade over Brad Johnson, who is in his 2nd year in Garrett's system and who has previous history with Garrett as well.

And with the season starting, how long would it take for Simms to be comfortable with the system?

Hopefully more comfortable than he was the last time he saw game action... 1 TD, 7 INTs, and a 46.3 QB rating in his only 3 starts in 2006.

To be fair i have no idea in my right mind why dallas is choosing out of a pile of scrubbs. Simms & brooks are both jokes as backups. Simms spleen has made coaches stay away from him & brooks doesnt impress me at all.

If their going after these guys they must not be happy with brad because hes your backup this year regardless who they sign. Why dont they go with romo, johnson & bartel. makes no sense. What are the odds of both romo & brad both getting injured this year?
