Ravens LB Lewis shocked by help given to Tebow

I'd like to hear more examples of what Ray's talking about other than Gruden.

There's no doubt there were people that were absolutely in love with Tebow leading up to the draft, and a lot of it had nothing to do with his football skills.

Good lord the suckoff-fest for Tebow is unbelievable. He's the greatest college football player. Give me a break. i guess you guys don't remember Herschel Walker, Earl Campbell, Barry Sanders, Archie Griffin, Vince Young, OJ Simpson, Tony Dorsett, man I could go on and on.

The problem I have with Tebow is not only does the media hype him up but he himself is portraying himself as this class act, nice guy, can't do anything wrong and to me you are walking a fine line portraying yourself like that because you better hold up to those standards. I see where Ray is coming from. This guy has done nothing and already getting props and his *** kissed by everyone.

I don't know if he is being himself or not. We have been burned before with the athletes I mentioned earlier in this thread. I just think he goes overboard with trying to portray a perfect image and that could backfire because no one is perfect. Then the constant force feeding with the Super Bowl commercial, and the prayer during that rookie seminar or whatever that was where the player told him to shut up. That kind of crap is what I am already tired of.

Calling Ray Lewis a dirt bag punk pretty much goes along with my point. You are so quick to jump all over Ray Lewis, for what? Because he is questioning the media coverage about the precious Tebow. Ray Lewis has so many accomplishments on the field that he should be allowed to voice this opinion. Why are you even discussing OJ? You might as well mention Ryan Leaf, Rothlisberger while you're at it.

I am confidant Tebow does not view himself as perfect. Every talking head I listened to before the draft was down on Tebow. This love fest for him is blown up in your mind. I jumped on R. Lewis because of his history being involved with the murder of another human. That kinda bugs me and I'm not willing to overlook it because he can play football. Same deal with OJ. I don't have a strong opinion about Tewbow and his football skills translating to the NFL, but will admit I like the fact he is a vocal Christian. Not to get political, but I believe that is the reason many really dislike the guy. He is vocal about his personal beliefs. It makes people uncomfortable.

Vince Young didn't get anything close to the hype Tebow has and you know it. That night Tebow was on the front page of espn.com and most other sports websites and some non-sports websites. Young was not made to be THE story of the draft like Tebow was.

Why didn't they just talk about Sam Bradford the whole time? He was the first guy selected. What do they have against 1/8th Cherokee Indians?

It was almost like the Broncos and Tebow did this on purpose. I know they didn't but I was so mad because the spotlight was taken off of Bryant and immediately on to this Tebow.

I also agree with Lewis (dispite whatever he did or not in his past) that should'nt be the issue right now.

The topic is about the "special attention" TT has gotten compared to other rookies. Tebow has been talked about more than Sam Bradford. I just don't understand how a QB who has to change his throwing motion (and still he has a slow release) overnight to improve his draft stock. I got to give it to him though, he's one of the best self-promoters in NFL Draft history.

He can knock your socks off in an interview but, can he play QB in the NFL. I don't think he can.

I can not picture Tebow orchestrating a drive by shooting and then covering it up and lying to the authorities. I just don't see it happening.

I give Tebow credit he does not just talk the talk he walks the walk when it comes to what he believes in. As I said how he does as a pro QB, I don't know he has allot of work ahead of him and I hope the best for him but I do have some doubts. In the end though Football is still a game and if he fails or not as a QB does not lessen the respect I have for him and others like him who are willing to give up their time and comfort to help others.

Lewis doesn't have to shut his mouth about anything concerning the NFL. That guys accomplishments on the field speak for themselves and if he has something to say then he has a right to say it. Again you are mixing up Lewis' off the field situation with what he is talking about in terms of the treatment of Tebow. Please separate the two.

I honestly have no idea. I'm not a scout, nor do I pretend to be. But I think with his physical tools and his determination, he has the potential.
