Ravens LB Lewis shocked by help given to Tebow

Lewis doesn't have to shut his mouth about anything concerning the NFL. That guys accomplishments on the field speak for themselves and if he has something to say then he has a right to say it. Again you are mixing up Lewis' off the field situation with what he is talking about in terms of the treatment of Tebow. Please separate the two.

As a football player yes great player as a man not impressed by his action. Yet you are the one who brought up Tebow the person and "portraying himself as this class act" when his actions as a person has been just that not some act.

You are the one talking about how Tebow protrays himself as good guy and the fact is his actions would say that is true not his words but what he does.

Like him or not, Tim Teebow is arguably the greatest college football player in NCAA history, playing the most important and highest scrutinized position on a football team.

It is, however, fairly safe to say he in the top 100.
I'm one that would like to see both he and Colt McCoy (who had just as a good of a career,btw) make it. But it's an uphill battle for both, imo.

If you really are a Titans fans, I know at least one reason why.
During that Titans playoff loss to the Ravens (after the Titans totally dominated) Lewis completely cheap shotted Chris Johnson in the pileup. They held him up after the whistle and Lewis wrenched his leg as hard as he could....lucky he didn't break the thing off. It worked and CJ was out for the game after having run wild on them in the 1st half. Very dirty play.

Whoops, Sam Bradford just let me know he's pissed that he's the #1 overall and white but isn't getting a fraction of the love that Tebow gets. I could definitely sense a slight bit of racial overtone in his voice.

Im not gonna talk about the race thing, but as Skip Bayless says "they are victims of the moment".

Tebow is the greatest College player ever... FOR NOW. And then Gators fans will fall in love with Brantley, and NCAA fans will move onto another player as well. (maybe Jake Locker?) It's how fans are. Especially in college where it's 3-4 years and then your gone. You have to have short memories. Tebow was great in college, nobody can argue that. You can argue that his team being so great made it that way. It's all about right now, and as of right now Tebow is the greatest player ever. But 5 years from now will he still be so? Probably not. There will be another player and another media/fan obsession.

Yep, that's exactly why. Hopefully one day Ray Lewis and Ed Reed will get what's coming to them. It'd be ironic and awesome if it happened in Nashville.

The irony of Lewis' comments is that if it wasn't for his athletic skills he would get absolutely no attention beyond the patrons trying to get by him at whatever dive he was a bouncer for. Tebow would likely be a success at whatever it is he wanted to be a success at.


Of course the media absolutely loves a hero and a feel good story and will always blow it way out of proportion to create a market for what they are selling.

Absolutely there is a lot of Tebow hype. It wouldn't matter who or what color was picked right before Tebow in this draft. They were going to be overshadowed. Tebow has simply captured the attention of the nation for a variety of reasons.

I enjoy thoughtful examination of where meaningful discrimination might lurk. I really don't care for splitting every little hair on the topic. Sometimes I think folks spend too much time criticizing what others are doing to discriminate instead of spending that same energy helping someone overcome a meaningful disadvantage.

Haha love it. Tebow has so much hype because he's held as a super-Christian good boy and that plays well in a predominantly Christian nation. It's ridiculous that a kid who is a 3rd string QB with a limited NFL skill set from a big school gets all this attention. I have to agree with Ray Lewis that it's ridiculous how much help and attention this kid got compared to many others who were being drafted in the same class, why don't these kids deserve the help too?
