Saw yesterday that Ozzie Newsome said in his press conference that he has had multiple calls for pick #17. I think that pretty much guarantee's the the Cowboys have as well, since everyone knows JJ likes to wheel and deal.

7 more days.

If true?

Newsome would declare this 7 days prior to the draft because it benefits the Ravens how?

Again, if true?

He didn't say who, just teams have. I'm sure all teams are talking to each other about trades. Spikes interest, I guess by putting it out, so a team that hasn't called, maybe they do now.

49ers for Beckham?

I would think either him or Latimer. I think after his pro day they worked him out for 90 minutes. Eagles also really like him, so 49ers would have to leap frog them. They have 6 picks in the top 100, I think they can give us a 2nd. :)

Where do they pick? Would we be trading back or trading up?

Yeah, Newsome was pretty vocal about this yesterday...so basically telling the league that pick is open for business and that there is a lot of interest... maybe creating some competition.
Plus, I think they are missing pick this year and Newsome can't stand that due to his ability to find some keepers later in the draft.

Oh I misunderstood. I thought the Ravens were trying to trade. I don't know if I'd go all the way back to #30.

Ravens said they have talked to quite a few teams about trading for the 17th pick, I'm guessing Jerry has been called about the 16th pick as well.

Honestly don't believe Baltimore has actually received legitimately interested calls for #17. Like many have mentioned, it's lip service to create interest. We will undoubtedly be in touch with many teams about moving up, down and sideways. Doesn't mean a deal gets done.

Personally I'm hoping for a trade down that nets us an extra Day 2 pick. Whether that's SF's #2 or a team in the 20's #3.

SF has extra picks and I'd be surprised if they don't try to move to grab Beckham. He'd be perfect for them.

If you wanted to trade up to get a player you wanted, the 17th pick wouldn't be a good spot. You would have to trade up in front of Dallas just because because of their past history or make the trade with Dallas to begin with.

Due Diligence. I am sure that every GM has received calls about their thoughts on trading picks this close to the draft. It would be foolish, borderline irresponsible of GMs to not know the mindset of their peers while they are going over draft scenarios.

Don't understand what your saying. Say SF wanted Beckham, more than likely he will be there at 17, SF/Baltimore have a history (Boldin trade last year), why wouldn't SF trade with them to jump a head of Philly or someone else they believe wants that player.

Because it would not help the cowboys? :)

Just because the Cowboys pick is always so volatile. Any team that wanted Beckham other than SF could probably just make a similar trade with Dallas at 16 and get the guy they wanted. I was just supporting your original post that if Baltimore is getting calls for 17 then Dallas is getting those same calls.

Baltimore's MO is usually to stand pat and take the best available player. If there's a trade down in that area of round 1, there's a good chance it will involve the Cowboys.

I hope that Baltimore floats out these thoughts frequently in the next week....for example, if seattle is reaching out to baltimore for their #17 pick, I can imagine that SF would want to get in front of that...supply & demand and #16 is more coveted than #17

keep talking Ozzy....
