I think they like having the option to either replace or re-sign Pollard in 2024.

If Bijan falls to #26 then they'll see him as a 2024 replacement for Pollard.

If they wait until the 3rd or later then they probably want a RB that compliments Pollard's skillset like Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon in Green Bay.

I don’t think they’ll force the issue by trading up for a guy like Bijan, but if drops to them then it’s a different conversation.

I’ve read a lot of theories on why not to take a RB in the 1st round and haven’t found any of them convincing other not taking one in the Top 10.

Now, imagine having your starting RB, presumably playing as a top tier player at his position (which I think Bijan would), tied up for 4-5 years and not counting more than $4M against the cap until Year 4?

That’s a steal and money we’ll spent. At the end of Year 4-5 you let them walk.

Like you’re going to get a premium comp pick if you just let him walk so where we are picking I’m all for it.

The only time I’d ever draft a RB top 5 is if he looks like Adrian Peterson.

To me, if Robinson is gone before 26 - cause we all know if he's there, Jerry will take him .
2 things come into play. If they see Pollard as only a 1 year player - give me Abanikanda all day, if they are gonna sign Pollard to a 2nd contract, then grab Johnson to compliment him or McBride.
