Drafted by Cowboys RB Phil Mafah Clemson

Seems like a good dude, easy to root for.

Nice that g-t counter is his favorite, with the pulling that Adams will be installing. BS mentioned Adams using him like James Conner, which seems like a decent comp.

Also, it wasn't talked about a lot but he hurt his shoulder early in the year and played hurt with it almost the whole season.
Yeah, I didn't know about the injury, but he seems like my kind of player. I just like the way this dude runs, especially when he hits the 2nd level. We also got Ajani Cornelius who has some serious upside as a run blocker.

We didn't get a receiver, but did we really need one or were the problems we had last year with scoring from something else?

I like how McClay took command this year and kept Jerry focused and reined in. When they do that, they crush drafts.

This was our best draft in quite some time. We netted at least 4-5 starters as far as I can tell. Or at least couple game day role players. Really stoked about Donovan Ez, Booker, Booker and James. I feel like we likely hit on Revel too even though I was more of a Hairston proponent..

Nfl draft buzz.......
  • Shows impressive footwork for a 234-pound back, demonstrating quick feet in tight spaces to navigate traffic behind the line
I'll never understand why people read draft reports.anymore. Words on paper are almost useless nowadays for evaluating players when we have this thing called YouTube.

Because they are more accurate than UTube.

Good to see a directed draft. Now let's see him win some free agent battles.

Here's an interesting factoid. I just looked up DeMarco Murray and his size when he got drafted. He was 6-1 , 220. Mafah is 6-1, almost 6-2 actually, and weighs 234. Very similar size. Runs a lot like Murray , down hill, violent. But unlike Murray, no fumbling issues. His top end speed is just barely less than Murray, but plenty fast enough. Dude was a workhorse for the Tigers. They leaned on him. Guys and gals, you gonna be thrilled we drafted him in short order. Williams could become expendable.

Clemson is a pretty good team to be chosen from. lol

Unless you are watching full games and not selected highlights. Youtube highlights would've made me look like a 5 star recruit coming out of high school if you put together a 2 minute clip.

Dabol Sweeney thinks he will be a star. I read his take on him and Dallas drafting him. He thinks we stole a star RB. He may be right.

Murray ran a 4.4. Musty runs a 4.6. Not comparable. Murray had tremendous burst. Mafa lacks burst.

Hey, I'm all for every player we pick, rooting hard, just don't see it here. Doubt if he makes the team.

Lol, stupid is as stupid does and there is no right way to do or say the wrong thing.
Well, that's a nice little generality, but the truth is that this site is mostly opinions, and quite often there is no objectivity even possible. We can only examine what's in front of us and attempt to come to a conclusion.

I've been studying drafts since around 06 or so. I've found that the scouting reports you read are quite a bit more accurate than anything I've seen on UTube. Hey, maybe there's "a guy" on there who does evaluate well, don't know.

The TV spewers are quite possibly the worst source of info there is. Just a couple recent examples, they had many believing that Justin Fields would bring a first rounder. (Won a hundred betting against that!!!). And just recently they had everyone believing that Sheshe and Milly were both going to be taken in the 1st. Honestly, where do they come up w/ this trash? Wish Jerry wouldn't buy into it quite so often.

You think Miles could do well here?

Im more optimistic than I am with Williams
I think Miles will be more reliable of the two; I don’t know how he’ll play but they’ll treat him like how they trusted Zeke at the end of his previous tenure (2022) despite him wearing down. Javonte I would be surprised if he wasnt treated like 2024 Zeke or worse
