Drafted by Cowboys RB Phil Mafah Clemson

Sorry, but I don't think Mafah compares well with LeGarrette Blount at all, to be totally honest. Phillip Mafah isn't quick enough to the hole to deserve that honor, nor does he have the quick moves, either. I do believe that he's a tough enough runner to fare well enough to give the Cowboys a decent RB, if the blocking is sufficient to open the sizeable holes he'll require. He's just a power runner with average speed and enough strength to break tackles, imho. He's likely good enough to start, though.
Important part, a realistic pair was gained here and now.

Phil Mafah is strictly a power back who won't wow anyone with quick moves nor impressive speed. I do expect he'll serve well enough to start and move the ball well with good blocking. Whether, or not, he manages to start if a more talented back comes along remains to be seen. He's tough enough and a hard runner, though. Honestly, I'll be intrigued to see how well he's able to do in the pro game.
Watch his highlights. He is faster than you think

I like him. Moves well for a big guy.

Not sure what some are watching when they call him slow. Saw that he ran a 4.55. Scattboo ran a 4.65. Vaughn ran a 4.56

Hes not Bo Jackson, but he has a chance. Not like we have some star studded group.

Mafah is a nice pickup on Day 3. He’s a load with quick feet and not a lot of wear and tear. Would love to see him behind this oline.
I hope he plays like John Riggins just runs wild on defenses, and crushes linebackers and defensive backs have nightmares about him .

Yeah, I didn't know about the injury, but he seems like my kind of player. I just like the way this dude runs, especially when he hits the 2nd level. We also got Ajani Cornelius who has some serious upside as a run blocker.

We didn't get a receiver, but did we really need one or were the problems we had last year with scoring from something else?

I like how McClay took command this year and kept Jerry focused and reined in. When they do that, they crush drafts.

This was our best draft in quite some time. We netted at least 4-5 starters as far as I can tell. Or at least couple game day role players. Really stoked about Donovan Ez, Booker, Booker and James. I feel like we likely hit on Revel too even though I was more of a Hairston proponent..
Good post, I do believe we will run the football effectively Mafah looks good in the film I just watched.

He threw left handed in that clip. I wonder if his strong foot is also his left.

I'm sorry to inform you your opinion doesn't change my mind ,

I remember him playing, I remember how he played I remember his game ,and when after watching these videos it looks like a good comp to me and again just to stay in this recent time frame James Connor looks a lot like him.

Those are my comps I don't need you to change my mind or tell me how you feel.. Go watch all these highlights this mafah kid seems to be faster than he looks I mean he's not fast because he's big so you got to take that into account when you're watching him play this is not Jayden Blue this is not Tony Powell we're talking about a big dude that we're counting on for rundowns...

Jacobs was a flash through the line. Mafah is very slow to the line. They're really not close to being the same player.
Thank you for your response, but you didn't answer my question. I'm looking for timed 40 speed.

It's called "Having a conversation." Sometimes, I wish to engage people even though I can find the information myself.
Remember, just because you don't understand, that doesn't make me clueless. ;)

Once he gets rolling, he may well be, although it takes time for that extra speed to build up. He runs the forty in the 4.6 area, which pretty much indicates an average speed to me. I'll be looking forward to seeing what kind of results he gets with it, however. If it's more than I thought, I'll admit it.

There are more than a few who contend he's slow but I think he's average, which isn't that bad. He takes time to build his speed, which limits his forty time to some extent. I'll be hoping he works up enough speed to display some lengthy gains, however. If he manages to average over 4 ypc, it should be enough to allow our running game to do enough to help this offense find success. I'd be well satisfied with that, in any case. Anything close to 5 ypc would please me greatly.
