Yeah, yeah - the oline can't block.
But after seeing Choice play more today, I think he will deliver the most consistent results. He can make people miss, Felix can't. And we know Barber is done. Not saying Choice is elite but I think he would move the chains better than the other two.

I hope he plays just so people will shut up about thinking he is some sort of answer behind this terrible Oline.

Felix consistently is hit in the backfield.

Choice was playing against prevent defense in garbage time.

I saw Choice make 2-3 people miss with a simple juke move that allowed him to pick up a few extra yards. Choice isn't that great, but a RB has to be able to make people miss. Felix is beginning to look so similar to Julius Jones to me. With a lot of room, he looks great because he has great acceleration. But in tight spaces, he isn't very good.

Those two runs with Barber at the goal line sum up the play of the O Line, and I'm not a Barber defender. JVille got penetration on those plays and the O Line didnt move them an inch. Jim Brown would have got stuffed with that O Line play.

The 2nd run I agree. The 1st run a good RB scores for sure.

Choice didnt even run the ball today. He caught 4 passes mostly in junk time on outlets against prevent defenses.

Another well thought out thread.

The whole team is such a mess I think it suffices to say that every position needs help.

I see you have a strong skillset in translating a player's ability to run after an outlet pass and compare it if they were handed the ball.

LOL guess not.

Just comparing the players in terms of running with the ball in tight spaces. I don't care if it was handed off or thrown 7 yards on an outlet.

Dude, are you this blind?

If he's at RB, taking a HANDOFF, he's gonna get subjected to the same miserable blocking Jones and Barber are right now. He'll constantly be having to dodge 2 or 3 guys before he even has a chance to read the play.

Catching the ball in space in junk time is hardly comparable.

I have no idea why Barber is getting any carries.

That I would agree with.

He blew it on that first GL run. If he just sticks the ball out, its an easy score.

Has no future here, might as well see what Choice can do in place of him. Though with our run blocking, it wont be much.

Choice seems to be more elusive than both Barber and Jones. Barber has some power (at times). Jones has some speed (at times). Choice has the wiggle.

BUT, Choice also seems to see the hole and hit smaller holes pretty well. His Vision is where I think he would be useful behind a poor playing Oline that is leaking guys into backfield and not opening decent lanes. Choice seems to avoid the backfield smack a bit more.

But then again, he hasn't had a lot of chances with game on the line this year as has been mentioned. A prevent D is pretty easy to run against. BUT he ran well against Baltimore and Pittsburgh a couple of years back. Showing he could shoulder the load and make small gains consistently against TOUGH run d's.

OMG. can't believe you said it. the love felix crowd is about to descend upon you. isn't that what felix was suppose to be good at...making people miss...

Agreed.

I'm a huge Choice fan, he is my favorite of the three backs, but behind this O-Line he isn't going to do a dang thing. This O-line couldn't block the guys in the flag football league that I play in.

Because the OL can't block worth crap, Choice is the better option. We need someone who picks a hole and hit it without dancing around the LOS. Choice does that better than FJ and MB.

Choice might not get the big runs Felix does but I think he can get you the consistent 3-4 yards a pop. The way our defense is playing and with Kitna, that kind of run game is what we need.

Choice is what he is... a backup.
He's a good backup to have who can carry the load when your feature guy is out- even for full games, if necessary.
Problem is, we don't have a "feature guy".
I'm afraid they doomed Felix to Julius jones' fate by having him add weight and interchange with Barber.

What hole?

And as fyi, Choice has 8 carries for 21 yds on the season.

He was not as productive or as explosive as Felix Jones was last yr when Jones was healthy, or even his rookie year.

Not sure what some of you expect. RB's cant run over or through multiple defenders in the backfield. Jones isnt losing yards because he's dancing around or trying to go from one side of the field to the other.
