So we currently have Murray, Jones, Tanner, Dunbar, Olawale, and Vickers on the team.

Anyone else think Felix is about to get traded? Cuz even if we were to trade Felix, we would still be long at RB, and that's with one of them being able to play RB and FB.

I think we should trade somebody. I don't think you need more than 3 RBs and we'd still have one extra guy if we trade Felix.

We are major league dummies if we don't get back at least a 3rd for Felix.

Well what if no one offers more than a 4th i say you take it and run

I don't see how anyone thinks trading Felix Jones is a good idea. A draft pick is not going to help this team this year. Felix Jones can.

So can the other backs

:hammer:

Neither Tanner nor Dunbar equals Felix as a RB. Murray/Jones is gonna be a great 1-2 punch at RB, esp behind LV. TChoice mightve been better than both Tanner and Dunbar when he was released, knuckleheadedness aside.

Strong OLine play would be a big plus tho.

We can only hope a trade will happen soon. 6 RBs is stupid. Teams know we can't keep them all and some one will get cut.

Didn't Olawale play some tight end at North Texas? Maybe he'll just stick around as insurance until Witten is 100 percent.

As for Dunbar, I'm estatic he made the team. Hope he stays.:starspin

Maybe Jerry will do what he did last year and keep Felix until week 9, refuse all trade offers and then release him to our division rivals for free.

The mismanagement of this club's roster by this GM is astounding.

Cut olawale. What's the big deal? Nobody will pick him up on waivers.

You sure it is JJ who gets all the blame? Garrett doesn't have a say in player personnel? Or is it the old blame-it-all-on-JJ and give-all-the-credit to Garrett game all over again?

Sorry, how could Olawale, Tanner and Dunbar NOT replace Felix's production? The guy has missed like 16 games (a full season total) in 4 years, and has 9 touchdowns his whole career. Did I miss something?? We will be losing him next season for nothing...

Having this many RBs plus McGee just blows my mind.

It makes no sense whatsoever.

Not really for nothing. When another team signs an unrestricted free agent (which Jones will be after this season), they get a compensatory pick in the following year's draft. It might be a 7th rounder, but it's better than nothing.

I think Tanner and Dunbar could very well replace Felix's production... and maybe even exceed it.

Per Mike Fisher on the FAN he said the FO wasn't willing to part with Felix because they feel that he's not far (hardly any gap between what he brings and what a starter brings) from being a starter. He said they feel that tanner and company have a pretty big gap from being a starter and therefore felix stays. They could be blowing smoke, who knows?

We don't always get a comp pick, it depends how many/what free agents we sign. And I am sure the Lions offered more than a 7th rounder for Felix.

Exactly. I like Felix, but the truth is he has done nothing more than flash from time to time. He's just another first round bust for us. Might as well get rid of him and get something in return while we can. There is NOT a huge drop off from Felix to Tanner/Dunbar/Olawale EXCEPT for MAYBE blitz pick up...

MAYBE.
