Count me as one who thinks that the Cowboys should have done more to buttress the RB corps this offseason. I think they were right for letting Murray go at the length/amount of money he received from Philly. I would have been OK with him returning for no more than a three season deal, so I have no problem with the outcome. I wasn't thrilled with going into the season with Joseph Randle as the next man up, and am even less enthused about Darren McFadden and his capability.

That being said, the Cowboys are likely going to have to roll with what they already have. The chances of them stumbling upon a solution from the waiver wires at this time are next to non-existent. Thomas Rawls, for the talent that he displayed at Michigan in small doses, and at Central Michigan, is not going to be the solution, either. He's also a knucklehead in his own right, and not one that I would want to rely on. A trade would be the one option where they would stand to upgrade things, but let's face it, they wouldn't exactly be dealing from a position of strength at this time.

Ray Rice is a non-starter as far as pursuing him. The firestorm and distraction that he would bring to the locker room is not offset in any way by his present level of talent. Plus, I wouldn't employ a person who hits women, but that's me. Chris Johnson is not the same running back that he was a few seasons ago, and I think he lacks the toughness to run consistently hard between the tackles. Knowshon Moreno is not healthy enough to be an option.

Being that we really haven't seen the current crop of guys in Dallas play at all, we just have to hope that the front office was correct in their decision making. At least these guys will be running behind a great offensive line.

I had felt that way up until last year when we used Murray as an effective hammer to help keep the defense off the field. Having a back who can get 4 yards on first down or pick up third-and-2 makes it easier to sustain drives. It's not the only way to get it done. We have a strong passing game and if our defense is improved, we can succeed that way, but it's that much easier if we have an effective running game as well.

That's what we lost with 2014 Murray. That, and a back who does everything well rather than being a specialist. It was a hit.

We'll still be ok on offense, overall. Because of Tony and the passing game and the blocking we'll get.

Need to have 3 healthy backs on the opening roster and about 2 or 3 on the practice team ready to go if someone does get hurt.

I am glad you guys are so unhappy and discontent. We are only one game into the preseason and some are already whining and ready to call it season over.

See how this works.

We won't know until we do. You can go the pollyanna route like all is well or you can got the negative nancy route like all is doomed....how about we wait and see.

Last year at this time I was negative nancy and thinking 8-8 at best...should have waited and seen.

Just some advice.

Solid advice but, as you already know, I do me regardless. My points have been made and I will be enjoying yet another hopeful season with a close watchful eye on the existence of the balance that made our offense go last year. There's no need to rehash. I don't share the same optimism as everyone else in what were carting out there and calling a running game. & that's quite alright..... No sweat off of any backs. Just that good ol healthy difference of opinion.

NO!....My advice is better...I don't care how many times you try to distract me with pictures of a hot booty covered in tight white pants.
