Yes, he did. I think some of what he said was done with humility, both about the role the line played in Emmitt's success and their ability. I think if you compare the lines player for player, it would end up being pretty close, but Emmitt is definitely the superior runner so he did more with less IMO.
Players like Gogan and Gesek might be on a comparable level to Leary, but they can't touch Martin. Tuinei was a scrapper, but nowhere near the talent Smith is. Stepnoski was a great technician with good movement skills, but lacks the power of Frederick. The only place where that line had a clear advantage is with Erik Williams at RT, and when Larry Allen joined the team ... because as good as our current players are they have a long way to go to match Allen in his prime.
