Israel Abandinkanda - 5th round pick that is not going to see action - was a 3/4 round projection in 2023. .

Give the Jets a 2025 5th.

Israel 5’11 at 211 ran 4.3 and is an explosive one cut runner. Different from what’s in the RB room at the moment yet won’t cost you much in $$ with reasonable upside.

I liked him as a runner at Pitt, but I think he had pass protection issues. I may be confusing him with someone else though.

Either way I don’t think the price would be as high as a fifth.

Fans want a more dynamic runner but GM Jerry seems he’ll bent on giving his buddy Zeke the RB1 role. Oh and he WILL start. Promise.

I loved Izzy in last years draft. Should've made it happen then. If we're talking about Jets RBs though, I'm inquiring hard about Breece Hall. Their RB room is crowded and considering they took another two backs this draft, I think he could be had for a 2 or 3. Start with a 4 and see if they bite.

That’s what Zeke is for. 3rd down and long passing situations and teach him the way

Dallas will resolve the running back issue in this manner.

Dallas will wait until the league mandated deadline to the 53 man roster. They will then sign a running back that didn't make a team.

If that fails Dallas will then poach another team's practice squad to acquire a running back.

The fanbase will be going nuts about the running back position all summer, but it will be resolved week 1.

If the Jets are already banking on one of the two rooks to be better than him already then sure, But right now Israel is behind Hall.
Just don't see the Jets being in any big hurry to make a move there especially for a 5th..

They drafted Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis. Not sure they go 4 deep at RB

I understand who they drafted, just saying they will not be over anxious to move a very talented RB in Israel for peanuts, even if they feel over joyed
with Allen and Davis, the Jets have nothing to worry about at RB.

Nah keep picks..

2024 is a wasted year. Dallas blew it this offseason.

Just chill and see what becomes available and draft a guy early next year.

Totally agree with your point. I think you see a trade or higher pick required because they can move on for the right price with the other 4 backs. Bass would help their Oline round out. Straight up Israel for Bass is a win-win

If I'm an NFL GM and Jerry calls.......

"Your right, Jerry, that's a fair deal........why in the world would I be interested in giving you a fair deal?"

"Didn't you hear the news, Jerry? It seems like, almost instantly, the value of NFL RB's has skyrocketed! Yeah, I was just as shocked as you look now when I found out. Go figure!"

Jets have a 1, maybe two year window to win while Rodgers is there. They're not trading Hall. I'd love for him to be here. He's one of those backs where if you get him the ball in space, all he needs is a crease or a missed tackle, and he's gone. He's 23 and still on his rookie contract.

Won't happen until mid season when the realize how stupid their off season rb plan was, but yeah its the right kind of thinking.

wait til cuts and pick up a running back then - if I’m trading I’m look at the broncos or Texans backs that are currently being talked about pierce n williams
I think that's the plan also. If our RB situation looks bleak (it already is but ownership has to see it) we definitely pick one up at final cuts.

And it would be the right thing to do (if it happens that way). Don't invent any picks into an RB this year. There will guys available for free who are worth a fifth oder sixth pick.

Focus on the o line geling together and see what they've got. See what the younger WRs got. Restructure the defense into a system, that is ready when the DTs from next years draft.

Change the culture to "mean". Don't have to win 12 games, but make every game a friggin unpleasant experience for the opponent.

So much to do... RB can be left unaddressed for now imo..
