The Chaz Green pick should have been Jeremy Langford and the Damian Wilson pick should have been Stefon Diggs. I'd still take Gregory at 60.

Not sure. Langford hasn't show much thus far and Green is likely taking over RT at some point. Maybe it works out that Langford ends up being the better player but right now, hard to say.

You'd think given we have an example on our team of writing a guy off too soon in Lawrence, people would refrain from this kind of analysis after one season.

Three years. They all have three years to prove themselves. Of course this will not help Tony and Witt but it's all about long term.

Langford filled in quite well for an injured Matt Forte. Played 16 games,. started 2. Had 7 TD's, 537 yards rushing, 22 receptions for 279 yards.

Lawrence was so highly thought of by this team that after only one season they paid 15 million for Hardy and drafted another pass-rushing DE in the 2nd round. Moving to LDE was the best thing that happened to him.

It's amazing how all 32 teams passed on Gregory in the 1st round yet we here at CZ continue to call him a <virtual> first round pick.

If we are going to be honest with ourselves -- if we was drafted by the Eagles and had the year he had for them we'd be making fun of the pick.

He was rated in the top 10. That is a first round pick that fell because of a failed weed test.

Did you learn nothing from DLawrence?

Absolutely. He was a Top 10 talent. Anyone denying that is trying to re-write history.

Edge rushers gets drafted early and often.

He asked if there was a redraft held "today", would Gregory still got in the first round?

The answer has to be positively and unequivocally no, right?

Nobody, including the Cowboys, were willing to risk taking him the the first round last year and you can be sure given that Gregory collected all of 0 sacks in 12 games in his first year in the NFL that GM's impressions would only have lessened even more since last year.

It's too early, but I gotta say, I didn't see a heck of a lot from this class in their rookie year. Then again, I didn't see much from the vets either.

I know what he asked and I still say he would go in the first round.

The weed problem is over with so we are back to just talent.

Talent wise he still is Top 10. He had a redshirt year but I still expect big things.

He would go top 31 this year IMO.

I am fine with our first two picks but when you see picks like Rawls and the Giants TE, it will make you scratch your head. Now 31 other teams passed on Rawls (some didn't need a RB) but we should have had our eyes on him considering we didn't take one in the first 5 rounds.

Rawls had some real red flags coming out of Central Michigan. It's the reason why everyone passed on him.

Yeah there really shouldn't be any complaining about the Gregory pick. Now, if he got suspended or in trouble it would be 1 thing, but nobody should have expected much from him as a rookie 4-3 end. The Jones pick was fine too as long as they stick to developing him as a FS.

The only pick that I was/still mad about was the Green pick. Just made no sense to gamble on him there.

With only 4 years of control it is harder to justify drafting injured players like CGreen.

This year JSmith-LB will be tempting if he slips but we should probably pass.

Many pundits believed Claiborne was the best defensive player in the draft. I really can't hate on the front office for making a move that unanimously praised at the time.

Also, giving up a second stunk, but the value was solid for the trade up, it just stinks the player didn't turn out.

A nuanced view. Don't see that everyday.

A few days ago someone told me the Cowboys did the same amount of due dilligence on Claiborne as any youtube scout could have...
