you want a Arkansas kid at QB
Mitch Mustian
born February 27, 1988 in Springdale Ark
Dating back to his junior high school days, he has a 61-2 (.968) record as a starting quarterback
Mitch Mustain began his career at Ark and had a successful freshman season compiling an impressive 8-0 record as a starter in 2006. Mustain has a strong arm, above-average accuracy and made good decisions with the ball this spring while pushing Sanchez for the starting job
Former USC quarterback Mark Sanchez says: "He has a great arm. He can throw the ball through a brick wall.
Strong arm, as he's able to throw all the routes. Zip on his throws
I really do believe that if it were not for his arrest on suspicion of selling prescription narcotics in February, Mustain would have been drafted. However, it now looks like he’ll need to go the free agent route. But, the guy does have some tools that are worth taking a shot on. Mustain is a winner; he’s comfortable in a pro style system and displays very good accuracy/ball placement on all areas of the field. He won’t be a fit for every scheme as he lacks a great arm, but he strikes me as a guy who could handle an NFL offense early in his NFL career and earn a job as a number three initially.
Mustain was the backup to Mark Sanchez. In limited action, he completed 11 of his 16 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. The following season Mustain lost out on the starting job to Matt Barkley. He could have left USC after that, but opted to stick Mustain was the backup to Mark Sanchez. backup, which he was for the rest of his collegiate career. There is a history of backup USC quarterbacks doing perfectly fine in the NFL and that is what Mustain is banking on right now. Mustain has a ton of experience in a pro style offense and that should get him drafted as a late round flyer. Sure that experience is on the practice field and Mustain has done nothing to prove that he can be a more efficient quarterback
