Defense. Period. If they didn't have Lamb already, I'd say sure on Pickens. But they absolutely need studs on defense more than they need a stud #2 receiver. The results of this season prove it. But what does the masterful genius GM of the team think - we'll find out, after much prolonged drama over it all offseason I'm sure.

You can do both. You can create cap room by restructuring some contracts. Then you sign Pickens and get a little aggressive and get some guys on defense through free agency. Then use the draft to build further on defense. The CAP can be manipulated. We either need to rebuild or go all in. You aren’t in rebuild mode when you have QB on the books making the money Dak is making so why not just throw caution to the wind and push all of the chips to the center of the table. It’s not like what we have been doing is working. I want us to get aggressive in free agency. It’s time to move on from settling for mediocrity

Are they trying to imply that they will spend on defensive free agent players or something? I believe they would sign Clark, but not to a giant contract. So where would this money be spent? Also trading for a guy like Crosby would mean spending a ton, but that isn't happening.

Once tagged Pickens and his agent control the trade. Jerry Jones won’t do that, particularly with this agent.

I'm going D. We had a top offense without Pickens. He just made it an embarrassment of riches Look at Houston and these other teams. Our QB is better and we can run the ball and still have Lamb and Flournoy and build a D to compete. Just think it is the prudent thing. Will it happen? No.
