Re-watched the Tampa Game-thoughts/opinions

There are several reasons why this team stinks.
And Dak’s inability to make good decision in critical parts of the game is one of the big reasons this team can’t win consistently.
We will struggle against good teams and good defenses as long as Dak is our QB. He simply cant process against a good defense. The facts are there to see...over and over and over

#4 inconsistencies are starting to give me reason to pause. He should be playing pitch and catch with the weapons he has. There is no excuse for the poor mechanics and throws at this point in his career.
Something just wasn't right with Dak. We haven't seen him being so inaccurate all season long. Every QB has a few stinkers throughout a season, problem is here they cannot win when the offense struggles.

Been asking this myself. My only guess is that Schotty runs a vertical passing game?
We've heard these exact same complaints since the Garrett years. Remember all the pics showing all verticals (or all curls)... Why?

Because that's what Dak likes and that's what Dak will get. Same reason we got the "Texas Coast" instead of McCarthy's West Coast.

And Jerry can justify it by saying, look how great our offensive numbers are, why change anything.

Wow, you’re a sage.

The Eagles are 2-3 and have looked more pedestrian than Dallas.

Do you feel the same way about them or are you just here to pile on?
The Eagles look better than us. Do you think we hold the Jags to 10 points midway through the 4th? Their D is light years ahead of ours. Their offense stinks, but if they play us, it won't stink.

I have to admit, I didn't have a problem going for 2 there.
I had a problem with it because I think he was just looking at an analytics chart. Not out of the box thinking. They act like this is some new tech. This is simple math 10-12 year old kids that play board games with dice have known for decades. They make these decisions on the fly. No analytics needed. If you roll two dice, chances are you get a 1-3 on at least 1 of them. If you need a 6 to hit and roll 6 dice, chances are you get one 6. Little kids have made game decisions based on this with no chart. It's easy stuff. The problem is, it's never consistent. I can't tell you how many times I rolled two dice and not got a 1-3. Ever play Axis and allies or Titan? I'll take the almost sure thing twice over hoping to hit once on two 50/50 chances every day. If you miss it the first time, you do not have a better chance at getting it the second time. It's just luck.

Go back to when his hand was stepped on in the Texan game....wonder if is a bigger issue than they let on?

Please cite your sources on this vertical route thing?

Makes you wonder why all of a sudden. Check the all-22 and you will get your answers. It's much less Dak than it is Schottenheimer. He's misusing a boatload of talent...like those who came before him. Shotgun on almost 75% of all snaps. Shotgun on 3rd and 2 or 3. Vertical routes from vanilla formations, with nothing underneath because Williams and the TE are forced to combat the high level of blitzing Bowles threw at them.

Where I'm from...the HC/playcaller is supposed to be putting his quarterback and receivers in the best positions to win. Schottenheimer did NOT do that Thursday night. He will do it again...you mark my words. He will do this again down the road.

This is BS. Just watch the all-22. Prescott is not responsible for formations. Forcing a quarterback to throw a football 20 to 25 yards on third and 2 or 3 with no check-down is dumb. These max protect vertical routes were dumb. Dallas has three receivers that are great at RAC. There was very little horizontal aspect to the offense until late. 70 - 75% of the offensive snaps were from shotgun.
What do you mean by "Prescott is not responsible for formations." That statement does not compute. That is PRECISELY what he is responsible for. You must be having a breakdown.

The all-22 shows something else. How about NOT continuing to ask your quarterback to throw a ball 25 yards on vertical routes to gain three yards...or turning your running back into a blocking dummy. How about a horizontal quick pass scheme to take advantage of the THREE WRs that are all good at RAC? How about NOT running shotgun empty or no-back alignments on third and short? IOW...how about a HC/play-caller helping his quarterback and receivers and not hanging them out to dry? How about running the dmn ball behind Guyton and Smith?
Dak has the authority to change plays. He has shorter options. This ain't Madden and I ain't the one to type unlettered thoughtless posts towards. "How about..." you make a point that doesn't depend on a strawman or is not factual.

I rewatched too. I found it fascinating on the rewatch that the Dallas Cowboys just suck. Same thing I saw live too. Terrible coaching. Terrible execution. Terrible all around. Confirmed my thoughts from the initial watch. Which is they really stink

Yeah, amazing how when they go to hurry up the plays start working. That's Dak calling the plays.

No doubt Schott's playcalling has been an issue. I think if he continues to struggle they may give Adams the job and have him become more of a CEO type.
