What about Stew and Houck?

The Clown Wade Phillips promised to be different from now on and keeps his developmentally disadvantaged Stew and his decrepid Houck?

Defense, over all, stunk. OK, undereachieved.

These two clowns deserve the boot if Wade seeks to legitimize his reprieve and get one more year to prove himself. With the same cast, essentially.

Jerra sure looks like he's aging fast with these nonsensical deciions re keeping a loser as HC.

There is nothing sacrificial about canning a coach who doesn't get the job done.

Read was not "sacraficed", he freaking sucked.

I would have fired his arse after watching our probowl punter get carted off the field in Arizona.

As for Stewy, he is along for the ride ever since Wade took over the D so it really doesnt matter if he is fired or not. (cleary deserves to be however)

I would have sent Curtis with him.

He needed to be gone a long time ago.

But this isn't the only change that needs to be made.

I dont understand this situation.

Both Wade and Jerry have sworn to "change their ways" while at the same time advocating a strict doctrine of "continuity".

How the hell can you have "continutiy" and "change" at the exact freaking time???

I think they are referring to continuity by keeping the same staff and changing the way they hold players accountable or a change in attitude at least

I can understand keeping Houck. Everyone loved that we brought him in and Sparano wasn't fantastic his first year here either. A can't see what a line has in one year. But I don't understand why Stewart is being protected.

Our STs were never good at any point over the last 2 seasons. At least the offense and defense looked good and at times dominant one in a while.

Read should have been canned midway through last season (2007) when it was painfully obvious that he sucked at his job.

When people who've been around this team talk about how Read was unable to get any of them to practice, to run, to hit, I don't know how anyone can really blame anything on him.

As for not "getting the job done", not a single coach on the team got the job done. I've never thought Read was an especially good coach, but he had absolutely no chance to be successful in Dallas, and neither will the next guy under the current circumstances. Trying to coach STs with a bunch of guys whose main goal is to avoid contact is hopeless.

The O-Line problems weren't attributable to Houck anyway IMO. Kosier missed most of the year and Flozell has been hobbled all season. Also, Houck is not responsible for who we have, Jerry is. I am willing to give Hudson another year to see if he can make any improvements in our blocking, if not then we can make a move with him. One injury ridden season is not enough to make an accurate evaluation.

No Reed and the special teams have been playing poorly for a while and so Dallas will look to replace him. As for any other coaches? the off-season just begun

If that was sacrificial, I don't know what you'd have to do to get fired for just cause.

You're absolutely correct, HH is a damn coach and was trying to coach a injured oline all year. Infact, all the asst coaches have a very difficult time coaching a undiscipline team in such a layed back atmosphere created by our soft arse HC. Our players don't give their all, work hard, or are disciplined or focused. They DO NOT fear or respect the HC and that makes it tough on the asst coaches to do their jobs effectively.. WP is the root of our teams problems..

Having one starter out with an injury is not an injury riddled season.

The OL played like a bunch of disinterested drunks, who didn't care. Michael Irvin called them M$%@#$%@$%@s on Monday when talking about their pathetic play.

I really don't think we can blame any of the assistants given the HC and GM, but Houch clearly didn't reach these guys.

Everyone keeps talking about injuries. This is the NFL. The perfect year where almost nobody ever misses much time is the rare exception, rather than the rule. And with the age of our OL, we're much more likely to see similar injuries or more next year rather than fewer.

Sacrificial lamb implies innocence... Does anyone here think Ried was not to blame for the team's struggles in 08?

Bingo! I just wish he was fired earlier but the only problem would have been who do you replace him with? In my opinion you could have gone to any of the local high schools and would not have done any worse.
