I think it's obvious that Wade has no HC powers. HE has DC powers. This team is Co-Coached.

Wade says he takes responsibility for the actions of the team and well he should, however he is so afraid to upsetr a player.

Jimmy would call out a player in the press to get his attention. He would cut a guy on the flight home to send a message.

The offense has a ton of talent, Alex Barron notwithstanding, But Fire Crotch doesn't seem to get the whole play calling thing. I don't know if he thinks talent alone will win but he is at times unimaginative and at other times, trying to be too cute and run Harry High School plays.

Romo has a better grasp of what is happening on the field, so would it be a good idea for Romo to look at the personnel package Garrett sends in and then call his own plays and disregard what Garret calls?

I mean, at this point it can't be much worse.

I know a QB calling his own plays may be viewed as dinosaur thinking but gee, Garrett isn't going anywhere anytime soon and Wade has no power over him.

(I feel better now. :D )

I always here these things ...... but did either ever happen?

I know he cut that RB who kept fumbling but was it on the flight home?

No, it was not on the flight home. Curvin Richards was cut, but not just for his performance in that one game. Richards had a poor track record in Dallas and his two fumble game was the final straw.

If last year taught us anything, it's that the players in the locker room will play for this head coach. I don't see a mutiny coming at all - the players in the locker room are not the divisive types. I think they rebound this week, and will have a tough challenge in Houston, but not an impossible one.

The team has had this setup for a while now. While it isn't traditional, and certainly not how I would do it, the players don't seem to be affected by it. The results have also been there for the most part.

I'm not sure, but even at that, it was a 20th stringer who wasn't going to be on the team much longer anyway. As much as we hate it, Barron is the backup (and now with an injury, starting RT). I think He should have been cut and it should have been done in the locker room in front of the team. But comparing him to what was done to what Jimmy would do is ridiculous because I doubt Jimmy would have cut him in the same situation.

It was one game. It's done. Look at it this way, this was the one game the Cowboys played poorly in just like vs Eagles and then Vikings in 09. Now they will peak in December rather than September.

People would be calling for Jimmy Johnson to be fired in the time period of 1989 to 1991.

Why is he starting Aikman instead of Steve Walsh? Walsh at least won a game.

Why did Jimmy get rid of Herschel Walker?

Why can't Jimmy find a kicker?

Why can't Jimmy's defense create turnovers?

Why is Jimmy starting Aikman in the playoff game instead of Beurlein?

Why is the offense so predictable?

So in actuality ..... Jimmy never did any of the things that people say he did as coach.

And Barron would still be on the team even if Jimmy was coach still ...

Got it.

He had Lin Elliot fired before the end of a game. He finished of course, but Jimmy had already moved on.

I assume that was after one game of mistakes?

He did cut John Roper for sleeping during a meeting. Roper didn't do much prior to that incident to prove he was worth keeping anyway.

yeah, Jimmy made examples of Jags. Never heard him doing anything to any of the mainstays.

But who cares what the players feel... It's about what the fans want. ;)

No, Elliot only made 24 of 35(68.57%) field goals in 1992. Jimmy finally got tired of the misses at the beginning of the 1993 season when Elliot missed 2 FGs and 1 extra point in the first two games.

:laugh2: Actually, a lot of folks were saying that back then. Not sure I remember anyone complaining about the kicker though. All my friends and family that complained those first few seasons gained selective memory shortly after that first playoff win against the Bears. By the first Superbowl, they all remember being in Jimmy and Aikman's corner from the start.
