Well look at you…by your logic Norte Dame better form a committee. Try box breathing.

I will also add that polls of Native Americans overwhelmingly said they weren’t offended by the name rather they were proud yet folks like you get to run around and decide what’s offensive and what’s not. LMAO.
Clearly you seem to be triggered by this. As I said, it's everyone's right to decide what hill they want to storm up. I just find it strange that someone that posts 14K messages on a Cowboys board would be so motivated to bring back the nickname that a significant number of people found offensive. If you want to use Dan Snyder's (failed) talking points to lead that crusade, that's your choice. I'm not going to tell you what to do with your time, despite your urge to tell me how to breathe. You do you.

I still dont understand from your post what Snyder did or anyone did that you are talking about?

Gruden's incident was complete nonsense. Getting in trouble for a 10 year old private email is ridiculous.
?

Gruden 10 year old e-mail linked.

Only people who had access to it were NFL and Dan Snyder lawyers involved in the Washington inappropriate workplace investigation.

Gruden thinks the NFL leaked it so is suing.

Owners think Dan Snyder leaked it so they kicked him out.

I’m in DC area and all the folks I know are glad he’s gone,

Does this even discuss the sexual harassment allegations related to the cheerleaders, not that I really care, but my theory was that moves were already in play trying to force Snyder out.

As far a GM, apparently during the RG3 years, he would just come to Snyder’s office to whine and bypass anything the Shanahan boys did or wanted to do.
Basically makes it sound like all that was going to be brushed aside if Snyder hadn’t released the emails bringing so much heat on the NFL that they had no choice but to eliminate Snyder. Problem child. Never good to be labeled that in any workplace, even a billionaire circle. One thing I didn’t mention is the running joke with the owners was that Roger Goodell had a certain grimace expression every time Dan Snyder talked in a meeting. LOL

Goodell is a puppet of a few of the owners including the Maras. Remember when Goodell penalized the Cowboys and Washington for supposedly violating the salary CAP after the CBA had expired? That nonsense was orchestrated by Mara, which is why the only two teams punished were in the same division as the Giants. But Washington was punished much more harshly than the Cowboys. Mara clearly had it out for Snyder, and Jones. Goodell just did what he was told.

In any case, this goes back a long way and they used whatever they could to force Snyder out. They would probably do the same thing to Jerry but Jerry seems to know how to play the game better than Daniel Snyder.
According to the article, the biggest puppet is the NFL players union chief Smith. The owners thought he was super easy to negotiate with every time a new contract was up and wanted him to keep his job. Which is also why the players, or at least a lot of them, wanted to vote him out.

Hah buddy you ok? It was you that got triggered. Urge to tell you how to breath? What sort of nonsense is that? My point was to correct you and bring you back to reality. The “aggrieved” here overwhelmingly said the change was nonsense. That’s a fact. The sallies in America that seem to want to tell everyone how to live and behave those were the folks that got all worked up. That‘s the reality here not Snyder‘s talking points. No one likes that guy any way.

How does this prove the Commanders are going to be good?
They looked pretty good when they kicked our @@@ and made our QB look like he belonged in the CFL the last time we visited them.
Yes as much as you want to live in denial the NFC East has gotten competitive with the Eagles leading the charge.
Week 1 game vs the Giants is BIG and will set the tone for the first 6 games.
Don't forget(D.C.)they also play on Grass not one of our favorite fields to play on.

I consider this Cowboys because it’s our rival and some Jerry Jones stuff in the article but if mods feel it’s NFL zone, feel free….

Great article on ESPN about the Gruden dismissal which led to the Snyder team sale.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...dan-snyder-demise-washington-commanders-owner

3 suspects on Gruden email to Washington GM Bruce Allen leak:
  • The Commish, Gruden felt there was a vendetta against him. Reinforced by his relationship with Al Davis who also was suspicious of NFL Commishes, and thought that Rozelle was the one who rejected his trade for Jon Elway. Gruden once reprimanded for a comment about refs being unfair and had to meet with Madden and Fisher at NFL Office but didn’t show. Apparently, Sean Payton told him he was only coach who was stupid enough to pay his fine for pandmc days.
  • Snyder, probably most likely person and what led to his dismissal. He thought he could divert attention away from his own investigation. Leaked it same time as his final hearing was coming. Was close to Jay-Z’s PR Firm which had done same thing with leaks on MLB execs during A-Rod’s lawsuit and Gruden’s lawyers found that the reporters who published the leaks all had history of good PR article for the firm.. Had a conversation with NFL where his lawyers showed unsavory communications and other NFL owners referred to it as blackmail. Snyder also knew that Gruden had disrespected the Commish many times and Goodell wasn’t happy with Gruden and thought it might get him back in good graces and help NFL appear like they were solving social issues brought up by Kaepernick. Snyder also hated Bruce Allen and thought it would tarnish him since he received the email.
  • NFL Players Union Chief, Smith. He was facing a vote on his leadership the exact same day of the leak and apparently also had a good relationship with Jay-Z’s PR Firm that many suspected of giving the leak to the press.
Have to read the article, there is a lot more! But general consensus seems to be Snyder did it and that if he hadn’t, he would still have a team. Apparently the NFL investigation into Washington was originally done with collaboration between Snyder and Goodell for least impact possible. But Snyder started pushing buttons even threatening to attend an owners meeting he was banned from. Jerry Jones was the only owner who had any sway with Snyder, and the other owners had him convince Snyder not to attend. Then DC started getting involved with hearings. These events and the bad publicity with the Gruden leak, and the blackmail meeting from Snyder lawyers to NFL lawyers pushed the owners over the edge and they decided to kick him out, Gruden is convinced that Goodell did it and suing, and there is some suspicious stuff pointing his way, but end rational argument is why would he even consider publishing it knowing it would smear the NFL’s reputation no matter what. Snyder is the one most guilty of being a hothead with a Napoleon complex.

Quick note, Commanders are definitely going to be competitive again. Story mentions that Gruden would talk with his brother about his time in Washington and apparently on NFL Draft Day, Snyder would walk in off his yacht and tell them who to draft, overriding all coaches and GMs. Snyder is the wanna-be Jerry Jones, Jerry Jones is the wanna-be Al Davis. They’re all connected. ~cue Xfiles music
Interesting article.

Goes to show that the league, like any other entity, has its own prejudices and biases which can impact the outcomes.

NFL is corrupt. Shocker. There is a reason they repeatedly lose litigation and are called before congress.

But changing owners doesn’t make you a contender.
More competitive does not equal contender.

Since 2000, Washington:
  • Only 4 winning seasons
  • has only won more than 9 games in a season twice, and never more than 10 games
  • only 3 players drafted after the first round to go to a Pro Bowl
Pretty sure it will be tough for the new owner to run the franchise down any worse than that.

Understood. They’ve had issues. I think they continue though.
