The truth about realism, you cannot win a Superbowl every year! The truth of the matter is, you rarely win a Superbowl. When you look at history, this team is doing exactly what others hawe done before they have gone all the way. What it needs to do, is build on it’s success. Winning a playoff game this year was a step in the right direction. It finally tasted the savoring flavor of victory. We jumped a high hurdle this year. What’s needed is to build on what’s right. Miles had a break out season, Jenkins is very close to becoming a shut down corner. F. Jones and Spencer are very close to having break out years. Jones was itching to take one to the house yesterday; I wish we would have committed to him more. I would love to see this guy as our featured back.

This team is hungry; it just met a better team yesterday. We have finally thrown the eagles off of our back. We have shed the dreaded December jinx. We won our first playoff game in 13 years against a team that has been dominate in the past. Our defense broke free this year; Wade has done a great job with this unit. This team is up and coming, we can improve even more with a strong draft! We may have a few missing links, yet 11-5 is a very good football team. This team has improved; in all honesty I like this team more than I’ve liked a Cowboy team in quite some time.

If you have ever played sports, you would understand that you do loose, sometimes you get creamed. When I was younger, I used to play racquetball. There was this one guy, he would cream me every time we played. I never quit, I’d play him and suffer from his ribbing every day. One day I gave him a game. I still lost, however he knew he played someone that could compete with him. Eventually it was him taking the ribbing's, tasting the win was such a sweet success. I earned his respect. This Cowboy team is tasting that success, it won’t be long before they receive the respect they’ve been fighting for!

They may have cleared a hurdle but they busted an ankle on the landing.

I agree with everything your saying. But how is this realism? this is just being positive. Somebody that is negative can do the same thing they could say some terrible things but say its realism/realist.

First it was zero playoff wins in 13 years. Now the complaint is only one playoff win in 13 years. Oh where will it end? CRAP.

Yet perception is reality

or is reality really reality or maybe it is a fake reality put on as a reality TV series

or the reality of the situation is we have people that disagree

It will end when they stop having disasters like yesterday. There is no reason for this team to have been mired in a decade and a half long bout of mediocrity, except the guy at the top. Why do half the people here accept losing, excuses, and mediocrity as what is to be expected? I dont get it. Did alot of you people do a group hug and sing kumbaya yesterday. The prime of a lot of great players is ticking by, and I'm pissed.

...you'd do well to rewatch the game because from all angles and intents and purposes the offensive line was destroyed...Adams out, with constant chip help to Free and Columbo getting abused with regularity...Minnesota did to Dallas what Dallas did to Philadelphia...what New Orleans did to Arizona...what Baltimore did to New England...none of those teams are that much worse than the other but poor line play and turnovers are impossible to overcome, especially against a playoff team playing at home...-3 turnover differential was 1-49 this year [New England]...

...everyone is ticked off but Dallas has been to the playoffs three times in four years with two division titles...just making it there is'nt enough, as a lot of fans like to opine...a first round bye is precious and you have to do enough work in the regular season to assure that you get one...and even that does'nt always mean you'll advance [2007]

Here's Peyton Manning's resume over the past ten years, after throwing out his rookie 98 season where the team went 3-13:

1999.....13-3.....Div rd loss home.......Tenn[19-16]
2000.....10-6.....Wcard loss ..........@ Miami[23-17]
2001.....6-10.....no playoffs
2002.....10-6.....Wcard loss...........@ Jets[41-10]
2003.....12-4.....Afc title loss.........@ NE[24-14]
2004.....12-4.....Div rd loss............@ NE[20-3]
2005.....14-2.....Div rd home loss........Pitt[21-18]

2006.....12-4.....Superbowl win...........Chi[29-17]

2007.....13-3.....Div home loss............SD[28-24]
2008.....12-4.....Wcard loss............@ SD[23-17]
2009.....14-2.....i think Superbowl this year for them as SD is out...

...that is a post-season success rate of 11% for who is considered by many to be the best quarterback in the game of football...a total 10% success rate when you add in the 6-10 season [2001]...

...McNabb and the Eagles have been to 5 conference championships and 1 superbowl in ten seasons...once again a 10% success rate including 2 seasons missing the playoffs...and you can't really call it success because they lost the superbowl...

...Pittsburgh went 2 times in 9 years but only won one of them [11% success] [22%]

...New England went an incredible 5 times in 12 seasons[41.6%, winning 25%] spanning the Parcells-Belichick era...4 times in 7 seasons [an incredible 57% , winning 43% for the decade 2000-2009]...only the second team to win 3 superbowls in 4 years...

...the run by Dallas in the nineties and NE last decade will be hard to duplicate in the future...injuries, roster turnover, salary cap and coaching changes prohibit that type of thing, which is exactly what the NFL wants...parity...good for them but bad for fans who want to see their team contending for a superbowl every year...

I like how nobody blames the GM for assembling the cast of clowns we call an offensive line. Then again before this game all I heard was how Andre Gurode was a Pro Bowler and non sense such as that. Talk about delusional.

I know it's been said a thousand times, I've said it a few hundred times before, myself, but not one single person who is a Cowboys fan has a choice but to accept each year as it plays out. Tell me, wise guy, what are you going to do about the mediocrity that you complain about? Go ahead...tell me. You going to fire Jerry??? You going to hire a head coach of your choosing? Of course not. Go ahead and ***** to high heaven and see where it gets you. If you're a C owboys fan, you're going to accept each year as it comes and have hopes for a better "next year"...either that, or you're going to root for another team.

Edit: Just thought of something we can do...we can do like a few of the skins fans and turn in our "fan cards" to JJ...that'll change things! sarcasm/off

This a fan forum where people voice their opinion. Seems like the only one you care about is your own. You think talking up an a** whipping like we took yesterday is gonna make everything OK? You want to sugarcoat it.
Some fans don't accept losing like you have become accustomed to. Maybe because we've been losing for so long you have become good at making excuses. A WINNER NEVER EXCEPT LOSING, EVER.

No where have I sugarcoated anything. I did not like the outcome of the game anymore than anyone else. If you're not going to "accept" the losing, go ahead and tell me what you're going to do about it...I'm waiting.

Voice my displeasure after a blowout, if I feel the need on a fan forum. That's what we all do, cuz that's all we can do. There are positives and negatives that we are talking about, we all love the Cowboys and want to win badly.

The above quote is what I originally responded to before you threw your two cents in there. I haven't seen many on here accept losing, do group hugs, or sing kumbaya since yesterday. To imply that if we're not cyber-crying along with a few "realists" on here, we're somehow losers who accept mediocrity is what wreaks of arrogance.
You gave the correct answer in the bolded part of your post above, which is what I said to begin with...there's not a damn thing you or I can do about it but hope for better next year...that, or get a new team. Me, I'm sticking with the 'Boys!:)
