Here's an encouraging thought:
1960's Cowboys Suck
1970's Staubach Era (2 Super Bowls)
1980's Cowboys Suck
1990's Aikman-Triplet Era (3 Super Bowls)
2000's Cowboys Suck
2010's ??????????????????? Romo Era? (? Super Bowls)

We can only hope.

To imply that if we're not cyber-crying along with a few "realists" on here, we're somehow losers who accept mediocrity is what wreaks of arrogance.

Really? I kinda thought it wreaked of disgust. Landry fan I dont question your devotion to the team, I just cant believe the lack of anger on the boards. If Romo or Ware blow out a knee in training camp next year, you will see what a lost opportunity this was, and how briefly the window to win a championship is open. The team was peaking at the right time, for it to end like that is hard to take.

Yep. One playoff win in 13 years should be enough, right?

RS12, I guess we just think differently. I just disagree with those who want to gain therapy by voicing their disgust on a message board and think all of us should do the same or we're tree-hugging, pillsbury doughboy softies. I'm an optimist. Yes, there are things that need to be fixed on this team...lots of things. I have high hopes that those things will get fixed. Hope is what keeps me sane. If I lived in a negative world of "reality", I'd go nuts!;) Peace be with you!

What are you, 5... you make up something I didn't say and try to get me to agree with it? Let me try that, you would agree every team goes through a drought, right?

The truth about realism, you cannot win a Superbowl every year! The truth of the matter is, you rarely win a Superbowl. When you look at history, this team is doing exactly what others hawe done before they have gone all the way. What it needs to do, is build on it’s success. Winning a playoff game this year was a step in the right direction. It finally tasted the savoring flavor of victory. We jumped a high hurdle this year. What’s needed is to build on what’s right. Miles had a break out season, Jenkins is very close to becoming a shut down corner. F. Jones and Spencer are very close to having break out years. Jones was itching to take one to the house yesterday; I wish we would have committed to him more. I would love to see this guy as our featured back.

This team is hungry; it just met a better team yesterday. We have finally thrown the eagles off of our back. We have shed the dreaded December jinx. We won our first playoff game in 13 years against a team that has been dominate in the past. Our defense broke free this year; Wade has done a great job with this unit. This team is up and coming, we can improve even more with a strong draft! We may have a few missing links, yet 11-5 is a very good football team. This team has improved; in all honesty I like this team more than I’ve liked a Cowboy team in quite some time.

If you have ever played sports, you would understand that you do loose, sometimes you get creamed. When I was younger, I used to play racquetball. There was this one guy, he would cream me every time we played. I never quit, I’d play him and suffer from his ribbing every day. One day I gave him a game. I still lost, however he knew he played someone that could compete with him. Eventually it was him taking the ribbing's, tasting the win was such a sweet success. I earned his respect. This Cowboy team is tasting that success, it won’t be long before they receive the respect they’ve been fighting for!

Haha, I am probably one of the realists this was meant for. But I agree with pretty much everything you wrote here. I think we have an oppurtunity next year but we have to do two things:

1) Help the O Lines
2) HELP JASON GARRETT...(bring in Reeves or someone like him)

do both of those things this off season and this realists will be thrilled.

I actually agree with you as well. I couldn't tell you how much I was screaming at Garrett to get F. Jones the ball. Estabilishing a running game with Jones would have slowed that pass rush down.

The truth about "realism" - subjective to interpretation.

The truth about "Dallas Cowboys" - disfuctional owner.

A "drought"? Well earlier you said this:

Well I don't know of anyone who is saying we should win a Superbowl every year. What are you, 3?

And as for realism, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect more than one playoff win in 13 years. It's amazing how our expectation level has fallen so low that know we are supposed to be thrilled by just winning one wildcard game and then getting blown out the next week.

Some teams fire GM's and coaches for only being able to accomplish that. Here we give them extensions. Heck, I'm surprised Jerry hasn't lined up a tickertape parade by now.

...you would think appearing evey year in the playoffs would satisfy fans but it won't for long and if you want a prime example look no further than a team that resides in the NFC East with a quarterback who has a penchant for playing the "air guitar"...5 conference appearances [4 consecutive] and one lost Superbowl to show for it...Dallas scored 3 wins from its four consecutive title games from 92-95...

...this team had been unsettled at quarterback since Aikman's retirement...up until Romo emerged halfway through 06 the Cowboys were going nowhere fast with the Bledsoe experiment, just like when Favre retires and Peterson declines Minnesota will return to the pack...

...i knew that both Minnesota and particularly New Orleans would be tough to pass this year and the win at the Superdome pumped up the fan-base, with a frenzy reaching a fevered pitch after the second win over the Eagles...then some serious sunshine-pumping in the national media set the stage for something bad to happen...

...you can't just blow this team up after winning a divsion title and a playoff game...Phillips has'nt been here for the last 13 years...and by blow-up i mean new coordinatiors, coaches and systems which could upset rather than build on what the team achieved this year...250 points allowed on defense is the lowest under the entire Parcells-Phillilps tenure...the offensive line just had bad injuries at the worst possible time...

...Williams and Barber are two guys that will have to be used differently or not at all next year...too many negative plays from them this year...Dallas needs to pay serious attention to depth on the offensive line...

I like how nobody blames the GM for assembling the cast of clowns we call an offensive line. Then again before this game all I heard was how Andre Gurode was a Pro Bowler and non sense such as that. Talk about delusional.

I can't believe I am going to blow my 5,000 post on this drivel. But here goes. This so called cast of clowns helped the Cowboys to an 11-5 record whether you want to acknowledge that or not. Yeah, they had a bad game, and it happened to be a playoff game against a good team. And to blame the GM is ridiculous. You act like the run we had this year was absolutely for nothing. But that's a so called realist for ya.

You guys come out of the woodwork when something goes wrong. Funny, most of you guys were no where to be found when we beat the Saints and kept rolling. Pathetic. This board is for fans. You guys are no more than fair-weather in my opinion. You tear down others on this board for enjoying themselves and enjoying the ride. Be sure to stop pissing in your cheerios when it begins to run over.

I'm excited about the future of this team. The window is no where near shut on this franchise. For the rest of ya, hang in there, the best is yet to come. That you can count on.

First it was zero playoff wins in 13 years. Now the complaint is only one playoff win in 13 years. Oh where will it end? CRAP.

If we're going to throw out arbitrary numbers, im going with 1 playoff win in 1 year.:)
