Realistically, this is what we'll see for the rest of our lives

You're 46 years younger than Jerry, and 24 years younger than Stephen. Surely you don't expect them to have control the rest of your life.

I give you…

i

John Stephen Jones Jr, future assistant GM of the Dallas Cowboys

I mean, I don't like speaking in absolutes but it's going to be very hard for the Cowboys to win a title with the Jones family running the team.

Nearly impossible with Dak Prescott as their QB.

I am so stoked for this season. Can't wait for training camp.

So you disregard the 3 SB wins in the 90’s with the Jones’ running the team.

Pretty much the entire past decade can be summed up as such: a sinking realization in Cowboys Nation that 1) we're too loyal to ever ditch the team but 2) the team will never win a Super Bowl again in our lifetimes, perhaps never even get close.

A thousand Jerry threads have been posted before, so there's no point in digging up that topic again. But, realistically, we can only enjoy highlights, maybe go to the occasional game (AT&T will always be a top-10 stadium,) muse about the longer-and-longer ago past glory days, and maybe enjoy the performance of the occasional unexpected breakout star such as Romo, Parsons or Miles Austin.

At age 34, I know I'm young compared to many other posters. But I'm pretty resigned. Never even seen Dallas advance beyond the divisional playoffs or win a road playoff game in my life. At least I'll still have my San Antonio Spurs, who have given me all the championship joy and dozens of playoff wins the beloved Cowboys never did.

So......this is life? Dallas will be so-so for life?
first off its you are digging the nonsense up..dotn like it, move on..bye bye
secondly 18 other teams have not reached a SB since we won our last one, took KC 51 years between sbs, phily took 60 years to win their first and only one, Cince the new flavor for year 31 years between sbs and no sb wins at all. Jerry has 3.. got it> this isnt a jerry thing it league thing,..noone here knows if Jerry would have hired a standalone GM or 3 or 4 or 5 since Jimmy left, with the public title that it would have made a difference

we also are relative top 10 in wins since 2016 and top 11 since 2000 so yes you are drumming this up again and we while all are frustrated, fans with common sense know its not as bad as you are making it out to be and i do believe in our lifetime and im 52 we will get back to an NFCCG and get to another sb.yes its goign to happen.

Rangers, stars, and Mavs, 2 titles between 3 franchises in their existence,., and ?? they have had many real gms, changed owners, blew up teams..that all they have?? says rings are hard to come by,,

All I can say is I'm a Longhorns fan as well and want a national championship but regardless of they win a national championship does not change the fact I'm a Longhorns fan. I would love to see the Cowboys get a SB but I'm a Cowboys fan win or lose. I think this team has a chance to make it I think we have a pretty damn good offense even without Cooper and I see a defense that made improvements last season and expect to see more from them this season. Having said that there are no guarantees, but that is sports there are no sure things and once you hit playoffs unlike other sports it is a 1 game deal, not a series so the object is to be the best team on that day because if you don't your season is over.

Since Dallas's last trophy 13 of the 16 NFC teams have at least made an NFCCG appearance.

GB-8, SF-6, PHI-6, Rams-4, CAR-4, MINN-4, ATL-3, NO-3, SEA-3, NYG-3, TB-3, AZ-2, CHI-2.

THIS is a bare minimum NFCCG "appearance" list.

Dallas is 4-10 in the postseason since the last trophy and along with DET and WASH are the only NFC teams not to "at least"make an NFCCG appearance.
DAL has not advanced past the divisional round.

However you choose to show your patience in waiting on postseason improvement from this team is an individual choice that may be freely expressed here.

Looks like its time to grab some tissues and turn in your fan card.

Bunch of crybaby fans......it's frikkin hard to win a championship.....root for your team and enjoy when it happens...a lot of things have to come together...players, coaches, health, other teams health.....etc..coaches work 90 hours a week and they don't get any respect from fans unless they win a SB.

Cowboys fans are some of the dumbest on the planet. Fair weather little school girls.

You only need to outlive Jethro . Coming up on 68 it’s a concern for me especially with heart valve replacement. You have maybe another 10-20 years max as he’s pretty healthy coming up on 80.

Once he is six feet under it’s not likely the Cowboys will be operated in same fashion .

I sympathize with these younger fans. This has been a very disappointing and frustrating era.

For me my plate is pretty full. I’ve seen both championship eras and all of the glory years.

When I use to go on the road with Cowboys Travel Club I really came to appreciate these Diehard fans in places like Detroit , Cleveland and New Orleans .

Lions and Browns fans have never seen a Super Bowl. It was in the 1950’s their last NFL title . There’s some extreme diehard fans there . Nobody jumping on their bandwagon from across the country . Lol

Took Saints 43 years. They used to wear bags over their heads. But they stayed faithful complaining all the way to the bank,

Witnessed 3 championships. Was very fortunate being I became a Cowboys fan 7 years prior.
Didn't have to wait long at all. :muttley:
You're the one settling for so-so....move on, if you don't like it...people think it's easy to win championships.....it's not!
Preach it Raunchy Coachie!

Yep

But unfortunately Jethro is making it tougher on us that it should be.

I have several young fans in my family. They still love Cowboys football . And every time they come over see all of my memorabilia in my sports cave.

They understand the history. They also understand who’s making this era tougher on us to have more success.

I think they still enjoy the journey and embrace some of the talent we have had. Not everyone can be a champion.
