When I use to go on the road with Cowboys Travel Club I really came to appreciate these Diehard fans in places like Detroit , Cleveland and New Orleans .

Lions and Browns fans have never seen a Super Bowl. It was in the 1950’s their last NFL title . There’s some extreme diehard fans there . Nobody jumping on their bandwagon from across the country . Lol

Took Saints 43 years. They used to wear bags over their heads. But they stayed faithful complaining all the way to the bank,
Diehardblues -you overlooked Cleveland's 1964 title. Correct about Detroit - 1957 - and the former "Aints" - 2009.

Since Dallas's last trophy 13 of the 16 NFC teams have at least made an NFCCG appearance.

GB-8, SF-6, PHI-6, Rams-4, CAR-4, MINN-4, ATL-3, NO-3, SEA-3, NYG-3, TB-3, AZ-2, CHI-2.

THIS is a bare minimum NFCCG "appearance" list.

Dallas is 4-10 in the postseason since the last trophy and along with DET and WASH are the only NFC teams not to "at least"make an NFCCG appearance.
DAL has not advanced past the divisional round.

However you choose to show your patience in waiting on postseason improvement from this team is an individual choice that may be freely expressed here.

and 12 teams have never won a SB
Minnesota Vikings
Buffalo Bills
Cincinnati Bengals
Atlanta Falcons
Carolina Panthers
Arizona Cardinals
Los Angeles Chargers
Tennessee Titans
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston Texans

You're the one settling for so-so....move on, if you don't like it...people think it's easy to win championships.....it's not!

We haven't been out of the second round of the playoffs in 26 years. That's historically bad among the teams in the league. It's time to stop excusing this mediocrity.

So you disregard the 3 SB wins in the 90’s with the Jones’ running the team.

We lucked into Jerry having the sense to give the reigns to Jimmy Johnson and once Jerry thought it was him who was the reason for the success instead of Jimmy and those ultra stacked rosters before the salary cap, we've been treated to 26 years of failure

You only need to outlive Jethro . Coming up on 68 it’s a concern for me especially with heart valve replacement. You have maybe another 10-20 years max as he’s pretty healthy coming up on 80.

Once he is six feet under it’s not likely the Cowboys will be operated in same fashion .

I feel as it will be operated worse. Stephen has already essentially assumed control and we're being treated to penny pinching and duct taping. If McClay wasn't so good at drafting, we'd be the Detroit Lions or Miami Dolphins 2.0

No, Cheapskate Son is operating under Jethro’s control.

Once he has to answer and be accountable to his other 2 siblings and equal partners he won’t want to be in same spotlight .

This has all been their Daddy’s dream to be a football celebrity not theirs. They’ll still oversee like other owners but hire someone else to take the fall as GM.

Have to love grown men playing victim over the Cowboys not winning X where X is whatever arbitrary goal they want.

It's gone from make the playoffs, to winning a playoff game, to making the NFCCG, and of course the unreasonable ideal of a SB more often than once over 32 years.

Always the same victim complex.

Yeah, we're the only ones not to win a SB in that time.....

in this era, overcoming the jones boys, is almost impossible.
Jones boys control too much, the coaches we have are puppets or semi puppets. Not very innovative.
they have to play the stars even if they have better options. And no FA stars on temp deals.

It is all up to the players, so again near impossible..

I lowered the bar of expectations/standards to "only" having to appear in a NFCCG. A couple of these teams listed here have had greater post season success than Dallas since Dallas's last championship year.

It's an exercise in "settling for just reaching a championship game" NOT Super Bowl trophy wins list.

Standards and expectations are much lower these days.

27 years is a long wait to some here. To others, not so much.

It seems the ones who have convinced themselves of strong patience and that the direction of the team is positive do not accept others opinions that differ from this.

Championships? Yes, they are difficult to win.

How about an NFC Championship Game APPEARANCE in a quarter century?

They've been THREE very difficult wins short of a Championship in each of the last 26 seasons, at best. Thats the definition of repeated failure and the idea that management seems to have no desire to change isn't acceptable to me.

And no, I'm not going to "root for another team." I'm going to continue to complain about the current leadership.

This is the EXACT place to do exactly that. For those that dont want to hear it, there are options for you.

Meanwhile, I'm preparing for another year of denial.

Thank you.
Enjoy....

Pretty much the entire past decade can be summed up as such: a sinking realization in Cowboys Nation that 1) we're too loyal to ever ditch the team but 2) the team will never win a Super Bowl again in our lifetimes, perhaps never even get close.

A thousand Jerry threads have been posted before, so there's no point in digging up that topic again. But, realistically, we can only enjoy highlights, maybe go to the occasional game (AT&T will always be a top-10 stadium,) muse about the longer-and-longer ago past glory days, and maybe enjoy the performance of the occasional unexpected breakout star such as Romo, Parsons or Miles Austin.

At age 34, I know I'm young compared to many other posters. But I'm pretty resigned. Never even seen Dallas advance beyond the divisional playoffs or win a road playoff game in my life. At least I'll still have my San Antonio Spurs, who have given me all the championship joy and dozens of playoff wins the beloved Cowboys never did.

So......this is life? Dallas will be so-so for life?

To say the team will be so-so for life when you’re only 34 years old is going way overboard. You’ve experienced some good Cowboys teams they’re just not very good in the playoffs. By the time the playoffs arrive they’ve run out of gas.

Got to figure this: if you have good management, you will eventually win….. but 27 years later, where is the good management? Clint Eastwood said:

I only stated facts, if the object is winning a SB then there are 12 teams out there that have none. I expect Cowboys to have done better than they have and it is hard to swallow but all any can do is get the players and compete. If you want me to believe that this team will never win a championship as long as the Jones family owns them, sorry I don't buy that. I think there are many years were we have had the talent and the came came down to less than a TD of winning. This year I think we have the talent to compete how they are playing heading towards the end of the season is anyone guess.
