First, Jaylon may be the most over hyped guy at his position that the Cowboys ever had. Maybe more than Hollywood Henderson, but at least he made plays and was actually very good, all for a short time. When is it fair to say the Jaylon Smith story should be over here in Dallas? What has he actually done to make plays in crucial moments? Lets have this debate. Should we trade him..cut bait?LVE...CAN WE ALL just be real and say this is a failed venture? He is always hurt...he is Sean Lee junior and that is not a good thing. Can we all admit our linebackers stink? LVE when healthy is our best..but key phrase...when healthy. Lee is all but toast. and when Thomas is your best LB, you know we got issues at that position. When is it time to start Francis Bernard and go with new blood?Lets have a real conversation about this.

Both lost on many, many plays.. Dallas' defense will be the teams Achilles heal once again. And Dak will get all the blame. Just as Romo did. Rinse and repeat.

Now, now, before you haters come, yes, Dak will deserve some of the blame, not the landside he is getting right now, but, of course some.. Just as Romo deserved some of the blame.

I posted over the weekend that the return of those two to 2018 from was a key to the season.

I hate to jump to conclusions here but I think the answer is already in on both.

One got paid and checked out and the other probably shouldnt be playing a contact sport.

Let’s talk about why we’re in this situation. Jerry taking yet another known risk with a first round draft pick that he initially received wide praise for on this site and Jerry trying to send a message to zeke about holding out so he signed Jaylon way prematurely.

*Jerry also taking another known risk with Jaylon = wasted years

Yes, we can admit our LBs stink.

LVE is on McClay for better or worse. He was the guy in the draft room who sold the team on Vander esch,

Way too much invested on a position that isn't really considered premium. They did the same with Sean Lee and Bruce Carter, two 2nd rounders. A great LB is a luxury, not a necessity. You can be KC and have Anthony Hitchens and Damien Wilson out there and still be a good team because you would then spend more money at other premium positions.

Was a huge Van Jaylon fan, but we really have to consider revamping the whole LB'r core after the season they just are not very good.
that unit gets exposed time and time again...its awful. Jaylon just isnt good. He has poor form and is always over running plays, and not a good tackler. Not sound fundamentally. Time to maybe trade the guy.

Time to admit they are just very, very, average players. They both have the skills, they just have had horrible luck with injuries.

Vander Esch just looked like such a monster in 2018.... It's sad how it is going. They are definitely going to have to go LB'er heavy in upcoming drafts and FA. Jaylon shouldn't even be a starter....yes, most overhyped "feel good" story ever.
