Undrafted WR from a small school busts his butt to make the team. Keeps busting his butt and develops into a Pro Bowler. From all accounts is a consummate professional, hard worker, and great teammate.

Then chronic injuries rob him of playing time and productivity, so certain "Cowboys fans" jump on the opportunity to trash the guy as much as possible.

"He's rehabbing hard and may be close to returning to the field!?!? Who cares! Good riddance, scrub!"

I just don't understand this mindset and I don't care to. Probably the same morons who booed Aikman during rough games near the end of his career.

Some nfl players cant continue there career because of the same nagging injuries, Miles is one of them

what are you doing for me now?

Who else gets really mad at seeing wasted time on these updates? I'm done with this guy and it would make me really mad at this point him coming in and taking snaps from Williams or even Beasley for that matter.

I, for one, hope he comes back and comes back strong.

All it will do is help our Cowboys.

The man has outstanding talent and great skills.

I want him to help our team, not disappear.

Now- next year? Well that will be dealt with next year.

For now, this team needs all the help it can get.

I'll definitely consider taking life advice from someone who has no idea what my life consists of.. thanks bud.

Miles had 8 months of 'rehab' in the off-season and still couldn't get the hammy healthy or strong enough to avoid re-injury so I do not expect him to be healthy during the season.

I've given up on Austin. He was nothing more than slightly above average and he's past his prime.

Miles news is dead to me...I still believe he is our 2nd best WR when healthy....currently? he shouldn't be taking up space on the roster (but we can't help it)....I love the guy, just wish he could get back to helping the team....and to RastaRocket regarding liking our offense without him I submit, What offense? we pretty much suck since we have no one calling any type of game plan...our offense is mired in mediocrity...it needs to control the clock and keep the defense off of the field as much as possible...it seems the defense plays pretty well when they aren't on the field constantly...but, since we don't have that, we have heart-breaking losses

Maybe Williams is, but no other receiver on our roster besides Dez is in the same universe as a healthy Miles Austin is in terms of talent and athleticism.

Not even close.

Maybe in 2009 this was true. Not today. Wow that was so long ago.

Of course, I could be wrong. But I don't see the need for Miles anymore.
He's oft injured.
He's getting older.
He commands a large salary.
We have a younger, cheaperTerrance Williams to take his place.
And we can get a third receiver in the draft.

I just don't see a need for Miles beyond this year. We need more defensive help and help on the offensive line. We can use his roster spot to get stronger there.

That's where this team needs to invest its draft picks.

I don't wanna see him taking balls away from Williams or Beasley bc those guys are actually going to be here next year, unlike miles. But he is good depth this year when healthy. Not like he's a detriment to the team.

Give me a healthy Miles over Williams or Beasley. I still don't trust rookies. I know Beasley is in year 2 but may as well be a rook.
