Tyler and Tyron have different body types. At similar ages Tyler was 25 lbs heavier. He is still 10 lbs heavier. It's their bubbles where Tyron has always been lean.
I see Tyler growing into a body more like Flozell's 6'7" 340 lbs.
Yes, it's not a body type comparison per se; although it is for Zion/Hudson.
Just an upside comparison.
My gut feel comp is a 6-6 version of Larry Allen.
Tyron ended up near 320 and maintained the flat stomach and body that would make a Greek God jealous. Tyron could star as the terminator if they make another one of those. Arnold was 6-2 and less than 240 at that point. He would look puny next to Tyron Smith.
Tyler does have the near flat stomach look at 324 pounds, but is not quite in that Greek God category.
Tyler's demeanor is somewhere between LA and Erik Williams.
Not quite the level of EW wanting to kill defenders and eat their children but he definitely wants to physically dominate them.
LA was a bully because it was fun but he didn't have the EW or Randy White type mean streak.
Flozell is a reasonable comp. He had terrific physical ability. Would be remembered as a Cowboys Great if not for the false starts. I don't think Tyler has quite as big of frame as Flozell. Only a few great OTs have been that big. Jason Peters has a very wide body but is 6-4. I think Boselli was under 330.
Body type I see Erik Williams but with foot quickness close to Tyron. I still remember seeing Erik Williams in training camp in 92. I said then that he was destined for greatness.
I've had a handful of those predictions after attending training camps over the years.
LA, Witten, etc..
My 1 miss was MartyB. He looked incredible on TC during the practice reps.
He would go from the blocking drills of dominating DEs to the receivers drill where DBs struggled to cover him. They had a drill where a Safety & CB covered 1 receiver. He won most of those.
Regardless, he still walked back after the play looking like the laziest person in human history.
Then in real games he could not remember where to line up and had issues concentrating long enough to catch the ball.
He was a good blocker in real games for the Cowboys but could have been much more.
That was the Wade with Garrett as OC era.
MartyB with Jimmy as HC would either have been cut as a rookie or would have been an all time great.
