Reasons why our offense has been so limited

1. Injuries... We came into this season expecting our running game to obviously push us through the year, and for a while it was. But we have running backs who can't really stay healthy. Our Romo friendly offense was predicated on having Felix Jones as a home run threat, as well as Marion Barber being healthy and productive.

That said, even when Felix was healthy, Jason Garrett wasn't using him to his capabilities. That is why I am so adamant that we get rid of Garrett. Take a page out of Philadelphia's playbook.

Felix Jones should be getting 20 touches per game, either in the receiving game or the rushing game.

2. Two Tight End formation, isn't coming to fruition as we thought it would. As much as we were relying on Felix Jones in the running game, we were relying on Martellus Bennett in the passing game. He is supposed to be this great mismatch, yet we're getting no production out of him as a receiver. And I again blame Jason Garrett for this.

3. Our wide receivers plain suck. Miles Austin is not a top receiving in the league, I don't know why we thought he would be. (I never did, by we, I mean the Cowboys fan collective, and this front office).

4. For some reason Tony Romo isn't playing well. And I'm sure that has to do with our vanilla play calling that isn't punishing teams for all out blitzing us.

Terrell Owens' production was supposed to be replaced by Felix Jones, Martellus Bennett, and Miles Austin...

In 4 games that group has 10 catches for 141 yards or 35 yards per game... with only 1 touchdown.

In the first 4 games of the year last year T.O. had

17 catches, 264 yards, 4 touchdowns

Jason Garrett does not know offense. He doesn't know how to get wide receivers involved in game plans, he dosen't know how to put star players in position to make an impact.

The 2 TE formation has been used more for the running game this year, which is all well and good until you're faced with a 3rd and long situation. I really envisioned Witten and Bennett getting waaay more touches than this and acting as security blankets for Romo underneath. Instead, Witten is getting double-teamed left and right and Bennett's reduced to a glorified blocker it seems. With Felix out and Barber banged up, now sure would be a good time to turn our TE's loose.

I can only hope Garrett's reading this.....

You can lump #3 in with #1 because Roy Williams, our best pure WR, entered the season with a shoulder injury that most other WRs wouldn't have made it back on the filed with. Some of his early drops are indication that this injury is more serious than the Cowboys are letting on. And now he has the ribs injured. By the way, both injuries happened to him when Romo laid him up to dry in the midle of the field, giving the defender an open shot at him.

But even injuries are not even the root of the problem; lack of depth is and poor coaching are. Can this team afford to lose Williams at WR? We already saw how "average" the running game looks without Felix Jones. And now Gurode may miss time due to injury; do you really want to see a backup OLineman take the filed? And while the lack of depth compounds the negative affect of the injuries, then you add to that an offensive coordinator that can't maximize the use of the players that he does have, and all of a sudden you have a putrid offense all around.

 Felix can't even handle 10 touches a game w/o getting hurt, and you want to double his load?

There miiiiiight just be a reason why he's not getting the touches.

Spot on

By the way, did anybody else notice that a central theme of the above list involved Garrett in some way or another.

#4 is the only reason on that list that matters. But it has nothing to do with playcalling. Playcalling is not making Romo miss easy passes or fail to read the defense and check down or out of plays. Playcalling is not making Romo commit stupid turnovers.

I think he lost his Mojo. He needs to get her back. I'd even be willing to give up stalking her for myself.

Head lights are ON.

Romo's regressing.

WR's are sub- par.

Injuries are killing us.

The #1 problem is Romo and then it's garrett. everything else is a distant 3rd including Wade Phillips being soft.
